Hey all, we've gone ahead and changed the EgN structure. What's this mean? We've made some new ranks. We've also changed the expectations. Also changed the recruit system. Promotions demotions. Kinda big! Read on.
First, we've changed the ranks. Here's those:Yep, two new ranks. What's the difference between them? We've updated the FAQ with this info:
Leadership:
Leader: Leads the clan and manages it's finances, holds final say in decisions and is tasked with always improving upon the clan, building a path to a better future, as there is always room for improvement!
Co-Leader: Assists the Leader in their task, holds the responsibility of substituting for the Leader whenever necessary.
Advisor: While also holding many high administrative privileges, are tasked with advising the leadership in their decisions, and as such they have a heavy influence towards the clan's future. Has the EgN-A| tag.
Executive:
Staff: Are tasked with administrating the clan's daily business, ranging from resolving issues between people, teaching new clan members to answering your questions, while they are the lowest higher-up rank, they are EgN's workhorse and are of vital importance towards keeping EgN running smooth. These people should be your first and main point of contact with EgN and it's leadership. Has the EgN-S| tag.
Members:
Legend: Older, experienced, and valued members of the community. Have been in the community for over 2 years. The definition of an ideal EgN Member. Must be a near unanimous vote by the Staff+
Elder: Valued and trusted clan members dedicated to EgN and mature above the level of that of a Veteran.
Veteran: Clan members who are active, showing dedication and maturity to EgN to above the level of an elite.
Elite: Basic, dedicated members of EgN. These are the baseline admins and eligible to join teams. Wear the EgN| tag
Member: Those that have been accepted into the clan, basic members of EgN. They are unable to become admin or join teams. They are not required to wear clan tags, but can wear them to be promoted to Elite.
Special:
Dev Team: Additional rank given to the people currently running the servers. They manage and garner support for the different servers they run.
Retired: Former members of EgN. They were once part of the community, but for any reason are no longer with us. Now they are regarded just as registered users.
Recruit: Have applied to be a part of the clan. They await a two week period in which they will be judged by the community before ultimately becoming a Member. Wear the EgN-R tag
Yea so let's break it down. The new "Member" rank are people in the clan. Real basic membs, but they don't have to wear tags. You've still got to abide by our expectations i.e don't be a dumbass and have the same or similar name across forums, Teamspeak, and servers. Simple enough! The goal is to encourage people to stick around who didn't want to be bound by "tags" or "rules." The cache is you can't apply for admin or teams. You've got to get promoted to do that.
How to get promoted?
Members can get promoted simply by wearing their tags for a month. That's it. After 4 weeks, we'll set you as an Elite, and you can apply for admin. Sounds bad but it's actually the same system. Members currently have to wait 4 weeks after getting in before they can apply for admin anyway. Same system just reworded! After Elite, promotions work the same. Legend, our other new rank is a special promotion. Said individuals are discussed heavily with the Staff+ and must have a near unanimous vote.
New Recruit System
Changed this too. We're getting rid of the Voting Booth. No more voting. Instead, we're doing recruit apps like normal, they've got to apply and all that. Then, they wait a roughly 2 week period to be "judged." Members can comment on their application or take part in a running vote. At the end of the two weeks, Staff will review this and accept or deny recruits. They've still got to wear tags though.
Readjustment
Yea we've stuck this into there. We've gone through and determined who should be where. This means some people were promoted and some people were demoted. We'll get an official list of who was actually "promoted" or demoted. If you weren't wearing your tags, you were demoted all the way to Member, regardless of whatever rank you were previous.
Lastly, we're opening an invitation to all retired members to re-join, skipping recruitment and joining as a Member. You just have to submit an application.

Would there be a new list of expectations set since this has come?

The whole new rank system is now Recruit -> Member -> Elite -> Veteran -> Elder -> Legend. So, two new ranks of Elder and Legend, basically Elder (Veteran), Veteran (Elite), Elite (Members), Member (different color but doesn't wear tags) and recruit (all based on color and old ranking system). So, only Elders+ would have source ban permissions to extend their own bans like the old veteran in the old ranking system |
