I agree with you they are trying to justify their own positions by using poor examples.
Yea a business employees the people it wants but that doesn't make them right. It just means those people in charge like them. Where as if the people vote someone they like just means they might choose someone they like.
Basically the bosses hire someone who they see themselves in where the people vote for someone who reflects the opposite of the current boss in an effort to create change instead of having the exact same people over and over with power.
When you have old power hiring new power it is just a circle that never ends. But when the people choose the power it throws the system around and change happens hence why people with power are afraid to allow the people to make decisions because it hinders their power. Obviously
