I agree with you they are trying to justify their own positions by using poor examples.

Yea a business employees the people it wants but that doesn't make them right. It just means those people in charge like them. Where as if the people vote someone they like just means they might choose someone they like.

Basically the bosses hire someone who they see themselves in where the people vote for someone who reflects the opposite of the current boss in an effort to create change instead of having the exact same people over and over with power.

When you have old power hiring new power it is just a circle that never ends. But when the people choose the power it throws the system around and change happens hence why people with power are afraid to allow the people to make decisions because it hinders their power. Obviously

Speaking from management experience, it usual benefits a company (or gaming community in this case) to look for managers who are outside the organization because that person can add new and innovative ideas that may not have been brought up before. While this may not be the best way for Phillip to "apply" for staff, if he has ideas that he believe will benefit the community, he should be given a chance to prove his worth. After all, he has been here a long time as far as I can see. In many cases today, companies outsource managers because the current board may be at a standstill. I do like the way the community is headed but I do not see how shutting down Phillip's offer makes any sense. He clearly cares for the community, assuming this is for real and what I have seen from him is the real him. Just a little rant lol.

Yeah, long-term loyalty and consistent activity deserves some kind of reward. I think a re-structuring of the ranks and the perks that come with promotions has been bought up before, it's high time it was bought up again. People get to Veteran in a few months and sometimes they're there for like two years. It definitely needs looking at so people can stay on an upward curve and avoid stagnating.

By the way Phillip, I voted No. I just haven't seen enough evidence forum-wise that you're mature enough to be Staff. You've shown that you can be level-headed sometimes but you also like joking around on serious threads and you sometimes come across as though you don't belong in those "adult" kind of conversations. Just a forum-dweller's two cents, I'm probably wrong, feel free to toss my opinion like salt behind your left shoulder.

Well because like i said there's hasn't been anything on here to be serious about. I'm serious when i need to be basically in the servers. We're a gaming community the only time to be serious is when you're staff+ and also depends on situation but you're also not around me most of the time. So what you see is one sided opinion but thank you for your vote
