If you guys think CSGO will work better with population on there then I'll stand with that.
Just feel like we have a chance if the crashing stops and a better lr plugin is implemented. We could get back potential players. Otherwise we start a bit more fresh with CSGO.
I'm thinking to run a CSS server to develop mods on because it's what I know best, then when we have that core gameplay in, move to CSGO. If the CSS server picks up cool, we'll keep it but also run CSGO, if CSS doesn't pick up, that's ok CSGO is the goal.
I don't really see any downsides to this, since this will get a working server up faster and still builds towards a CSGO server. What do you guys think?

I think the CSS server would be a bust.
I would focus all efforts into GO. Its a newish market for EgN. Every CSGO jb server I have been on feels wack and unbalanced. Vanilla JB on CSGO would bring in a lot of people. GamePunch is the new standard for most of the people that play JB, just facts. It stays populated, no one wants to join a JB server with 4 people in it. If you move to GO its easy competition, like I said all the JB servers on GO are booboo. You guys could run that shit no problem if you implement your CSS rules and play style.

Thanks for your input but
I don't really follow, I explained a CSS server helps us get a CSGO server. A CSS server would be a relatively easy pickup on the arduous road to a CSGO server. &
So if a CSS server helps us get a CSGO server, why do you think we shouldn't? Especially if we can do a CSS server better than GP, why shouldn't we provide this service?

Posted April 10 what I'm saying is, CSS might be a dead horse for EgN. Its been too long, people have moved on. CSGO is a new market, with new players. My personal opinion, don't put all your efforts into a game no one is going to play. I would put 100% of my efforts into a fresh start on CSGO, with CSS as a secondary goal.

For sure! I don't expect people to come play on any of our servers at all if they're just average or below that. EgN is kinda a dead horse atm itself. We really need to do something remarkably better than the competition to get ahead now.

On 4/11/2019 at 2:47 AM, Sly said: There’s is pros and cons with both decisions
Css:
pros: homeground - easy to develop new mods - we know the players. We know for a fact that people want to play this
Cons: very tight competition with gp. With players that we know that moves in from gp.
little playersbase
csgo:
pros: wider player base - something new - a new opportunity
cons: risky - nothing to fall back on - less knowledge on how to make a server? New opportunity.
tbh there is backlash on both. So I’m gonna ask something else:
does it have to be jb?
you could do some research on what mods people play or even games and adapt to that
I don't know ANYTHING about making servers so I can't really say whats easy to make mods for etc, but here are a list of games I think might be cool to look into if you were to go this route -
Arma lll - still has a huge community, with endless mod possibilities
Rust - I know we had one in the past and it failed, but this is a great game and something I think egn should have in the future
Chivalry - Old game, but still classic and fun, still has around 4k people on average.
7 days to die - Lots of mod opportunity, Fun game if your into zombie/survival
Gmod - Well... TTT duh.. lol, But even just a simple "sandbox" server so we could get on and hang out and blow stuff up would be cool. I.E after meeting game sesh or just a game everyone has that we can all get on and play.
This one is iffy... but - Comedy Night
this is just an idea mind you but this would be specifically be around events. Have an open mic night, sort of like our old Karaoke nights, except its based around stand up comedy, and there is a platform instead of just sitting in a TS3.. seems like it would be funny and fun and make for some highlights.
Anyways just my two cents, maybe something to look into.

Also, I wouldnt limit events to EGN specific servers right away, there are TONS OF GAMES WITH TONS OF OPEN SERVERS.
Wouldnt be hard to schedule a game with a servers IP just to go have fun and get events started again. This could be held on any game if we werent worried about EgN specific servers, just until we get a game online. It would help keep people active and making atmosphere as a clan.
