Ditto. It's part of the reason why I think we should ban the rank. It is in support of the response. Don't tell me what to do and quit bringing up my name in in topics like you have done already in this thread alone.

Goldgames is partially right about why retried was counted, however no-one who wasn't a member at one point was given the retired rank, Tricky, Roaxes and Myself went through and went through all the old applications and those that were accepted and had since left the community were given the retried rank. Yes it was to give the view of more community members, it was changing the count from 200 something too 600 something in order to attempt to get a server for EgN on a very popular game at the time. It was mentioned later at a monthly meeting why it was done, but to make it VERY CLEAR, everyone with the Retired rank was/is a member and no randoms were given the rank.

I do support changing the member count to count member instead of retired, and this takes 2 seconds to change.

The "extra powers" or "extra permissions" retired have is viewing LOAs (not commenting on them, i changed that before I left, it was reverted back) and Chatbox. If you remove the rank, you'll be killing EgN even more activity wise. Some people may return, some wont bother anymore.

I've stayed on the topic of removing the Retired rank. I used you as an example because you were being toxic (which you were banned for) which people have been bringing up that many retired have been doing. GP is not related. Stay on topic.

And I used GP as a reason, because they have been coming here in droves. It's part of the reason why I feel the retired rank should be removed. Again, stay on topic and don't bring me up again.

Any GP member that has done anything against the rules, im sure the Staff+ will deal with swiftly.
Im sure if anyone from EgN does anything on GP servers they will mention it to the staff+ here and they will deal with it swiftly.

Same with my community I have around 20 EgN members that play on my Rust or Gmod servers, if they act up, and represent EgN in a negative way, I'd let staff+ know, as well as taking action on my servers.

Now the relevance of my above comment? It stops assuming everyone in a group is bad, or does bad things, when its a select few. Deal with the ones who only have negative intentions (or ignore them, as even some members are like that) and leave the rest out of the generalization

The people being toxic is something that has been brought up and discussed previously. Please elaborate on why you may disagree with the previous parts of that discussion. At this point you're bringing up a talking point while being ignorant of the discussion that was already done in the thread about it.

People leaving and joining another community in and of itself is not a good reason imo. Dyno, for example, has left but continues to have productive conversations / comments in network chat. He helps lead a whole other community. People being shitty is a reason to remove it from those people. Some abusing the privilege shouldn't revoke it from the rest as consequence.

Back on topic, I honestly don't see any justification for removing the retired rank that can't be fixed by proper moderation. People say that them being toxic is enough reason, but there are people within this clan themselves that are toxic and get away with it consistently. The reason that they don't like what they say is stupid. If its within the rules, who cares if your mad? If its breaking the rules, fucking report them. There are people in these recent threads who got away with much more toxicity than retired and no one speaks of deleting the rank they are.

Okay I was going to respond to J-Dawg but before we carry on can we all agree to not drag GP into this thread, I understand there are some retired that are agitating the situation but I think it’s best for the thread if we stay on topic for this one. I have my own opinion on GP and how it should be handled but I don’t think this thread is the place to express that.

Now J-Dawg, something I keep getting stuck on every time I read your responses is that you talk about “removing” the rank but most people are talking about “reworking” it. Do you equivocate the two with the suggested “reworks”?

Also what you are describing really sounds like the purpose of the member rank to me and the whole reason it was changed in the first place; to be offered as an alternative to leaving so you can still stick around and talk to friends without as much commitment or involvement. Now if the member rank is changed back to how it used to be I might be able to agree with you, but right now retired really seems to just be watered down member with more potential to stir things up from outside the community.
