I was beginning to write replies to each to-do post individually, but I realized pretty much everyone ITT has the same issue: the to-do items are either incredibly complex, or terrifyingly difficult.

For example, changing your personality, or learning a language, or learning how to use a program, or becoming an adult. These are all nebulous, vague, very complex goals, with hundreds if not thousands of steps required to complete, and no one correct way to complete them.

I believe everyone here (myself included) could do with some cognitive exercises. I recommend that everyone tries to re-frame their to-do list items as single tasks that can be done in a day. To use my own example, instead of "do electrical work", tomorrow my to-do list will have "spend 30-minutes creating list of supplies". When we think of tasks as these giant complex things, it's no wonder we put them off. Just break off a small piece, and go from there. If you want to learn a language, instead of having your to-do list be "learn the language", break off a piece e.g. "practice Spanish for 30 minutes today." Instead of "I need to be more of an adult", break off a piece e.g. "I will research basic finance for 30-minutes that I may become more independent and secure".

By doing a bit of organization and cognitive adjusting, we can make the impossible the possible, the chaotic the orderly.
