Probably 1/10 vapes I've seen have the proper programing/wiring to use the micro usb port without problem, and they tend to be on the expensive side.
If the mod has sub par circuiting you can burn out the mod all together.
If one battery reaches 4.2V, the other may not be fully charged, but the mod will stop charging thinking they're both fully charged. Also some mods don't fully charge the batteries to 4.2V.
With a 18650 charger, it will charge each cell independently so there is no issue with balance.

I know you've got a complex of thinking you know more than everyone else, but maybe you should stay in your lane on this one.

----edit
Not to mention, if your mod overcharges the batteries it can literally explode in your pocket.

I dont really know anything about the technical part of vaping aside from ohms and shit, but when you buy a vape from the store with 18650 batteries but the mod itself has a usb charger, the guy behind the counter will warn you not to charge it via usb unless there is no other option.

18650 chargers have no other purpose than to charge a very specific battery.
Micro USB ports can charge hundreds of thousands of different things.
Not everything is meant to charge at the same speed/intensity, and being in a closed mod tends to let it build more heat which can be damaging to the structure of the battery.

It'd be nice if you did some research before you challenged people who know how these work.

It'd be nice if people actually explained themselves beyond "trust me" when I asked a simple question lmao, at least you gave some basic info, even a google search didn't turn up things beyond people saying "well in my experience..."

Lol I've "got a complex thinking", I'd say it's rather the opposite but it's besides the point.

For me this isn't a fight or an argument even, I only pointed out that there is a standard for how charging over (Micro) USB works, which when followed is the safest way to charge your battery (for both human safety and wear and tear). The issues you're pointing out there are exactly what this standard aims to prevent, I didn't comment at all about how often it actually is implemented in vape (mods).

I do think it's logical that the more proper ones are the most expensive, I'm sure as a small company it requires a lot of R&D resources to develop the correct circuitry for charging a specific battery by using Micro USB than just putting in a random battery.

Not charging to where the battery stops getting charged and returns for ex. 4.17 out of 4.2v is proper depending on the battery type, this is overcharge protection.

I'd def get the 1/10 of vapes you mentioned if I vaped.

Hate to say it bud, but some of the good kit will cost you about 120.
Although a dope ass vape pen I bought for when I was in the field was a just fog2 for around 40. sport a PVC tank that's 200x stronger than my will to live and won't shatter if it hits the ground. Just don't run it over. It's a pen that only charges from USB by the way and doesn't explode when does so.
