I hate to be that one guy, but this is in the wrong section. It has nothing to do with anything related to EgN, so General Discussion is the wrong board. It should be here.
Anyways, the way I see, everyone does deserve a fair attempt at succeeding life, regardless of who they are. However, I feel that in this video, both of them are wrong. Both of them act like the entire other race does this, that, and the other thing, when that is so far from the truth. I know for a fact not every black guy goes around dealing drugs, sagging his pants, acting "ratchet," and all those stereotypes, and I also know for a fact that not every white guy goes around supporting Donald Trump, calling black people niggers, and secretly wanting to deport every person of color they see, etc. Both sides on this video ended up using stereotypes to describe the other race, and both ended up saying that the other side blames it on everyone but their own race. So the way I see it, both sides in this video are racists, for assuming that's how the other race acts.
The funny thing is, a lot of the louder people on the internet who think all whites or racist, or that all blacks are dumb, or shit like that, act like the other race hurt them or something, or that they were discriminated against. Maybe they were, I wouldn't have any idea whether they were or weren't, but then they go and say that the entire race of the people who (may or may not have) discriminated against them are all racists, and they're all this, that, or the other thing. One white person being a racist doesn't make all whites racists as well. Just like one black person being a drug dealer or stealing from you doesn't make all black people criminals. It's not quite that black and white (pun intended). I've even had people assume that I was secretly a racist or something just because I'm white. The funny thing is, those people didn't know what the fuck they were talking about. I don't think they even realize that if their asses were on the ground, and they were hurt or some shit like that, while other people would be walking past, 'I'm' the one who'd get down and help them up because that's just how my mother raised me. I respect everyone, I don't care who you are, or how you treat me. You will receive some basic respect from me. I don't think they even realize that I grew up in a fucking trailer park, or that I was discriminated against and made fun of because I had a birth defect. I don't think they even realize that I was actually made fun of and shit in my classes because I was white before. Of course they wouldn't fucking realize that, because how would they? Yet those same loud ones act like none of that matters, because it's all just apart of my plan to keep them down and under or some shit. Because I'm a white man, and all people of color should fear the white man.
And, don't get me wrong. I know some whites that actually are racist, or that actually are alt right, or shit like that. But just because they're white, and I'm white, does not mean that we believe the same thing. I don't assume that every black person thinks all whites are racists, because I know they don't all believe that. Even if some do, that's fine. They can believe what they want about me, but like I said, I'll still show them some respect, and help them out if they need a hand, because it's how I am.
Sorry for the rant, but some of that shit really gets to me.
White guy's arguments focus on the black guys position, and that he got himself in it. Black guys arguments blame white people for his position while playing the victim card. Black guy's arguments are partially correct in that the government keeps them down, which it does. However I think the majority of black people just don't understand what exactly is keeping them down in the first place.

It seems like you're brushing off both of the sides arguments because they were generalizations. Black culture has a lot to do with why they are in the position they are. When you are kept in poor environments for so long by the government, those in the environment stick together. They form gangs, groups, or other subcultures. For example, the "fuck the police" hip hop movement you can see in the 80s. This culture that many black people have created and taken part in is a large factor in why they are still in the position they are. Their culture majorly focuses on hedonistic and material things. Drugs, sex, money, weed, every rap song in a nutshell. Many black people take part in those values because it is the culture they have created as a tribe. The problem comes when the media tells them they are oppressed because of muh white privelege, and that they are being killed by police all the time. So their culture becomes one of victimhood, where they are being told constantly that they are being oppressed by everyone.
Y'all need to enjoy the song and write something good or dont write anything at all and make it all political...
The whole point of the song was to be political, to talk about white and black and people's political views.
Exactly. So of course people are going to talk political about this. And honestly, that's a good thing. We can't ever fix these problems if we just shrug them off and refuse to discuss them.

Yeah, but not every black follows into that same "black culture". I hardly view it as "brushing off" their arguments, but I'm saying that both arguments are flawed, because they are generalizations. That's the whole point of the song. People are generalizing things to the entire opposite race based on these stereotypes going around. I get what you're saying though, and it's true. Media does paint those people who are down as being martyrs and victims, and that they're down because all whites are racists or that the system is flawed in favor of whites. And, don't get me wrong, there are racists out there, and there are people who do try to keep blacks down, but it's not all whites that do that. It's not even a majority of whites that do that. It's a fairly small minority of whites, but somehow those few bad apples spoil the whole bunch.

Great video to watch her summarizing my argument
