I feel the same way about this. I dont see a giant difference between the Xbox One S and the Xbox One X. Its just a money gathering scheme. Nintendo gets yelled at for remaking old games, but everyone gets so hyped about the same Xbox console being released.
The problem Microsoft have here is that they haven`t thought this through in terms of the best way to go about marketing it. I see it pointless investing that amount of money into something that doesn`t hold much value to much of the audience it`s aimed at. For starters not many people own a 4K TV and hell not many people are even bothered by the beautiful quality of what 4K quality can produce. I`ve came across many people in gaming communities who can`t even tell the difference between 1080 and 4K and there right because even myself off personal preference I don`t see a huge upscale at all.
I mean don`t get me wrong there is a market out there who want this kind of thing but it`s just not going to attract a massive audience out there and to be honest I can`t see the X being a good seller this holiday season. X speeds games 5 times faster than they would on the original Xbox or the Xbox One S but loading times don`t concern me neither does the amount of overall quality picture. At the end of day as long as it`s in HD then I`m happy with that and you`ll find many gamers have the exact same preferences. Most just want to play games without even being bothered by how much more fancier and beautiful it looks. From my perspective this is just one big massive cash grab and it feels as if Microsoft just forces this down there fanbases throats.
Many gamers just want something that fits there budget which is why I higly recommend the Xbox S because it is the market leader for Microsoft. It`s cheap and affordable and perfect for the family and at the end of the day that`s what most of the target audience is looking for. I sometimes think Microsoft loses it by going overboard with there heads when it comes all down to POWER. Good quality high ranged specs are one thing but an affordable console for the family with a good lineup of games is another.
If your looking to pick up a new console this holiday season do yourself a massive favor and pick up the Xbox One S or even the Nintendo Switch. Both perfect for all ranges of gamers and there both at a good affordable price making them perfect buying choices for gamers this Christmas.
