Yeah idk it seems silly to have client-side only skins. If there's no way of plugging that security leak, I'd rather just get rid of them and +1 the store system like other people are talking about.

we can add lines to the whitelisting file to ensure custom guns are allowed. that is easy

client side skins really aren't an issue in the grand scheme of the game, the only skins I can see as issues are sniper skins (lasers) and model skins, block those specifically and the rest is just cosmetic surely.

Keep the skins. if they go through all that trouble to material hack they coulda just downloaded walls too.

Skins can give advantage. I used to play with a lot of different skins 2-3 years ago but I've stopped. I always used the type of skins that was highly visable, like a yellow AWP or a bigger pistol to see people better. I therefore think we should get rid of custom skins as it gives an advantage over others.

There's also skins that give some weapons a laser sight or something similar (think awp/scout hip fire)

I say let people use skins. If they're using it to make themselves better who cares? This isn't MLG competitions, it's counter strike source
