So recently, I spoke with Silver Tongued Fox, who had some questions of me, that I felt unable to answer, as it would mean speaking on behalf of the clan, and the admins of jailbreak, which I do not feel comfortable doing. So instead, I asked him if he would like me to make a forum post on his behalf. I understand the general gist of what he was asking, and for the most part, I agree. It seems even our regular players have noticed the decline of jailbreak, and even EgN. Here is what he asked of me (quoted from steam):



Now as I understand it, he is asking why there is such strict application of the rules now, and why isn't leniency being allowed? He also enquired as to why loyal players are disappearing, either through choice, or by being banned (He brought up Papa Johns, but I avoided answering that because I was never involved with Papa Johns so couldn't comment). He believes that jailbreak, and EgN is going down hill, and for the most part, I'm sure most of you agree.

It's got to the point where frequent visitors to the server have started to notice the shit that's happening. So in addition to helping me get back to Silver Tongued Fox, I also ask the question, what can we do to fix it?

I do not want this to be a blame exercise, or one where we pick faults at what's going wrong or why it's going wrong. I'd like people to answer these in terms of Silver Tongued Fox's questions, but in terms of what I'm looking for, I want help with what we can do to fix this.

Please answer objectively and don't stray off topic. This is a serious matter, as regular players have even started to notice.

This is not a time to shitpost, this is a serious matter. Anybody taking this off topic will force the thread to be locked, and I'd like to finally get to the bottom of what's going on, and help us get EgN back to the busy, fun server it was not too long ago.

I got a solution. Take away admin to those that make up rules.

It really doesn't matter about those who have been perm banned off the servers. The population of the server is just fine and has nothing to do with those guys. Besides that only being your point Lean, theres really no regret on any of those bans. They were banned for a reason. The problem we do have is members who are not acting mature or feel like they have the right to stomp on the regulars.. All just because they're "members" now and think they can just get away with stuff. A lot of people think its a great idea when they break rules and be assholes for whatever reason that may be. In the end though a lot of them do it for the attention of the server or just for "fun". We have admins who abuse, make revenge complaints, and more. Does that mean that the clan is going down hill? No I wouldn't say that, every community has their problems. The community is like a family. We argue, we fight, and theres drama. No matter what happens there will always be someone that dislikes somebody else. And theres nothing wrong with that either, unless you are going out of your way to start problems with that person. My suggestion is that the people who have been around here for awhile start cutting back a little on the trash talking and drama. If you have nothing nice to say then keep your mouth closed. I know on somethings I haven't set a perfect example, but I will be trying to change my ways as well so we can work on making this a better community. Not saying the community is bad, instead improvements are always welcomed I'm sure. Not argueing just putting my pov out there.

By the way We are a gaming community where people come to get their minds off stuff (like said a million times before). Not a drama fest. For some of the members that have been here for awhile, we have to start setting better examples. For how we act will determine the type of people that we bring to this community.

I never said and not do I have a predisposition to act like a cunt. Not sure who you're thinking of there lean, but people who are banned are so for a reason. I think Link gets the idea of this thread a little better. I hope people see this post and realise there's a lot of growing up to do. Yes, me included. Does that mean we cannot have fun? Of course not. We're all here to have fun! It does mean though that admin isn't there for the hell of it, and it's certainly not meant to be used for fun or to constantly put someone you don't like on the back foot.

Hopefully we can get some replies from the higher ups and maybe even leader/co-leader with ideas to help members and admins change their ways and make the servers fun again.

Its like this and ima put it as i see it from when i joined not so long ago till now. When i first joined it seemed layed back but when you get admins that get on and punish people for litterely the most stupid shit or admins that get on and just ignore all request from players , that puts players at the point of either be total assholes or just be trolls. When i play i act my role of being toxic but when theres serious issues going on in the server and theres admins on its not my duty to handle shit and if theres a admin in the server they shouldnt be afk to say they were there for something cause that makes players get pissed when they request for that admin and they dont respond. And im not saying any names cause this isnt a shit talking post, and its not my place but yall know who you are and if you think its you then it probably is . Cause its like this because your staff,advisor, veteran doesnt mean your any different from any other admin yall all should act the same way and not ignore the issues at hand inside the servers.

Well i sent a pm to the advisors and Bourne about this as well and even warned them people will continue to make posts and talk about it if they dont address it and well it looks like that's happening.

I dont mind the post but i also want everyone who has a problem with the way things are to make sure you send a pm to the higher ups to show our concern. I personally msg'd only advisors+ (although i let some staff know about the problem) because i think that there are a few staff contributing to the problem but you guys feel free to talk to whoever you feel comfortable with.

See the thing is admin/members are strict on pubbers and ransoms
But no one is strict on the admins/members. That means for the most part they can act like asshats and no one would really report them because they think it would not change anyyhing or do not want to deal with that mess. And just saying this but some of the biggest cunts on the server are members rather than actually players because they either feel special or know they can get away with it. And for the love of God admins need to pick and chose their battles. If the whole server is having fun and it's just Good vibes all around why bring down the mood because rules are not being followed to the letter.

Well said, if the server is vibing having a good time dont pause everything to enforce a minor rule.

I think this is a good point too, but rules are rules and when someone gets FK'd, for instance, and nothing happens they are gonna get upset, which causes the server to be "unchill" too. I agree we shouldn't stop the server having fun because a CT accidentally picked up a secret weapon, or used a secret. Just PM them letting them know.
I personally just throw out a server wide "Please do not pick up secret weapons", as it doesn't single someone out and get them defensive, and I believe that helps with keeping the game going.

Honestly, admin matters should handled through admin chat, and personal messages to players when dealing with a situation where you will take action (besides issuing a warning). Too many times do I see admins calling out over mic asking why they FK'd, or use public admin chat, etc., and that just invites everyone on the server to give their input, especially when the players don't agree with the admins decision.
