What he's trying to say is that NO ONE is allowed to post on player/admin reports of any kind.
The absolute ONLY way you can do so is if you have vital information due to that banning.

If you post on a ban report such as " wow gf nerb" then yeah, you are in the wrong

Then why make exceptions?

He brings up a valid point, and not saying that Higher-ups shouldn't have fun, but why were they necromancing a mountain of threads? I mean I had a suggestion posted, but it was phased out because of the threads brought back. I get having fun is ok, but can we have fun without rending the forums useless for 2 days?

I'm also pretty ashamed at how some of the members handeled Bloody's LOA, just calling him names, a higher-up should have deleted his LOA. Kharn knows that everything they said reflected at how our community handles trouble makers like Bloody.

Misunderstanding the system is unacceptable when there's a post called READ FIRST with three asterisks either side. It's straight-up ignorant not to read it.

There is a grey area though. There needs to be clarification.

- Are discussions about rules okay?
- Why are higher-ups allowed to sometimes make non-constructive posts?
- Why are people sometimes told off for telling people to use the format?
- Can you spam if it's somebody like Bloodyguns getting banned? Surely not, but that's what happened and it wasn't locked until about 24 hours after it was posted.

Also, SkyCapz has a point.

I think it's simple:
Whether or not it's serious, you don't post.
The only exception is if:
a) you were there and/or have evidence
b) you are telling them to use the proper format (this is fine, someone has to do it, and if the first person who sees it happens to be a member or elite, it doesn't matter - the reply gets there quicker and it is helpful)
You should not post if:
a) you are trying to troll
b) you are saying "I've seen this guy freekill/misuse admin/etc" before - if you have something to complain about, don't wait for another complaint to be made. Make your own complaint.
c) you want to "add your own opinion" - if anything, PM one of the Staff who is dealing with the complaint.

Using my post in that thread as an example.

I added a valid bit of information to the report, but was still scolded for posting it. I'm still rather confused about that.

I guess i'll attempt to go ahead and answer these

1. @ the read first comment, whether or not it's there, people don't see it. It doesn't matter that they should, or it's hard to miss, or they just didn't read it, that's why we ignore the complaints.
2. Discussions about rules in what sense?
3. It's not just higher ups, you've been stalking our forums for longer than i have, and you know that members get away with posting non-constructive posts 80% of the time, where higher-ups only do it once in a blue moon. I'm not going to defend april for necroing those posts, and i'm not defending myself from posting on them, sometimes we just like to have a bit of fun and joke around a bit, sorry.
4. I don't think people are really told off for telling people to use the format, in fact i usually thank the people for getting to it ASAP as long as they said it in a nice manner, not "go fuck yourself, ur stupid for not reading the read first post"
5. Bloody's post was a shit storm, and you can't expect people not to have resentment, but yes it should have been locked previously. I'm going to talk to doldol later today about somethings we can do to counteract these problems.
6. @ skycapz If you had a thread that needed to be seen, or you wanted to be seen, but it was buried, there's this tool that you can use called a bump. You've heard it from me here and can quote me on this, If you thread is a suggestion thread, and it gets buried below useless stuff and a day has past and nobody has posted on it, bump that shit.

i'm 99.9% sure there was a post i deleted in that thread after you that said "i know i'm not supposed to post here but iron has been caught not understand stuff in the past " blah blah blah.

But what about clarifying what an exception is and what an exception isn't?

Also on a side note, dat double post
