A DnD group over the net could be possible but it would only ever be some what of a joke fest.

And I've never DM'd a group before and it is a complex amount of math....Since I'd have to keep up how much the Baddies you control are and factor in things like Luck, Strength and the other important stats every single hit in the game. Its a really hard thing to do.
