So we all know about the policy that only staff and up and people involved can post on complaints/ban reports/ban protests, right?
I'd like to point something out.
This was a recent ban "protest" by a upstanding gentleman of society zero0.

Clearly not a serious complaint. He didn't use the format, he didn't name the admin, and made no effort to actually accomplish anything.

Well people started to reply (responses were removed) and Siberiac said this and promptly locked the thread

Image

Well that is the policy, right? We shouldn't be posting on any complaints/ban reports/ ban protests at all, right?
Well, not quite.

Back in December there was a complaint on Doldol by Bstylz.
He didn't use the format either, but it was arguably more serious than zero0's
I have been chewed out in the past for posting on complaints and on this complaint there were a multitude of people replying to this complaint that were below staff and not involved while higher-ups gave no attempt to intervene on the seemingly illicit posting. So I got a little peeved and made a reply about it. Siberiac responded.

We need to define the guidelines of rules if it isn't clear on what we can post on and what we can't. If this isn't made up, then it was wrong to lock zero0's thread/remove replies in the first place. If this isn't true, then you can selectively hand pick which ones people can and can't reply on. I almost got banned from the fucking clan for this. It needs to be defined.

How about you just don't post on ban reports or complaints in the first place?

You're not meant to reply to any complaint unless you were involved yourself and have something objective/evidence to add.

Lel, Not even that. I remember i posted on a ban report about this MFK, posting screenshots of the MFK evidence that a staff member asked for and then told me not to post on ban reports.......

Could you post a link to that topic?

But that is how it is.

Then make it clear and make no exceptions. Period.

You're just stating what I know but apparently there are exceptions. I don't have an issue with the policy itself, I have an issue with how unclear it is and how there are "loopholes"

What you don't understand is that nobody can post on a ban report/player complaint unless they have something productive (screenshots/videos) of said report/complaint. However, our community doesn't always listen to every rule, and sometimes thats okay. We have on multiple occasions allowed members/elites to tell them that they need to post in the proper section with the proper format instead of us doing it.

Is that breaking a rule? yes.

Is it okay? yeah.

Please understand that insulting a person on a ban report that may be a legitimate report but the person doesn't understand our system. We have 10-12 year olds that play on our servers, if they want to report someone they have every right to do so, and we shouldn't make fun of them for not getting it, we should just tell them what to do,and if they don't post again, that's that.

The complaint was legitimate because of what Gotpunched posted trying to hold his side of the ban, which is expected, but isn't needed if it isn't in the proper format.

I understand your confusion, but not your frustration, if you don't want to get in trouble for it, then don't post in them in the first place. That way there is no chance of you getting flak for it.

Well I could see how occasionally it would be okay, but I feel that it happens a lot more than a few occasions. Just my input, not that it prob matters

My frustration is that I nearly got banned for it and it seems that you are making rather arbitrary exceptions to this rule. You treat it like a minor thing but if someone nearly gets banned from the clan for breaking it, then maybe it should be better enforced and clearer.
