I was Advisor for over a year and not once do I recall Doldol or Kharn ever consulting me for my opinion on anything. I'm not saying it's a negative, but this is nothing new.
Demoting Wartheft was an executive decision. These are the most difficult decisions in any line of work, the ones that only the Boss can make because only he is fit to shoulder the potential consequences of his actions. If you worked for a company and the boss wanted to move to a larger premises, he would go ahead and do so because it is his company and therefore, his decision to make. As an employee, the financial nitty gritties would be none of your concern.
But back to this demotion. Democracy, in this setting, does not work. It is not your right to decide whether Doldol can or cannot demote whomever he feels should be demoted. EgN is Doldol's clan now, he runs it, and he makes decisions like these because obviously, he feels it is for the best. Doldol should not keep Wartheft at Advisor because people like him if Doldol feels that he cannot run the clan effectively with a higher-up he does not want, understood?
Whether you agree with it or not (and I am leaning towards the latter for the majority of you), you do have to admit that only a weak Leader would make a decision only to reverse it after public outcry. I think Doldol feels this is what is best for EgN, and I guess it's up to you to each and every one of you what action you take now.
Best response I've read.

The board agrees on things before they're put into action. If the board doesn't want someone to continue being a part of the business they together, decide such. A wonderful example would be the board of apple kicking out Steve Jobs. The problem here is the fact that the board wasn't consulted, and when they eventually were they all disagreed. In a business, as such, the decision would never have been made.
Are the Advisors a "Board of Directors"? In my experience, they weren't. Doldol and Kharn were/are the board, and they promoted you and now, they're demoting you. The clan does not and should not get a vote in such matters because getting to Advisor is not, has not, and will never be a popularity contest.
For you to "Advise" as an Advisor you need to be trusted and have constructive suggestions and or advice....But if Doldol doesn't feel he can trust you or he feels your advice isn't reliable then that's grounds enough to demote you.
While I think it's great Wartheft has gotten all the support he has, it only proves that as an Advisor to the higher-up's of EgN, that Wartheft had the ear of the people but not the ear of Ceaser.
Or as Bill Cosby puts it when talking about a Father to a Son...
Doldol is the one who promoted you, and if he chooses to demote you then he will, and he can choose to make 1-2 more Advisors as well.
Of course. But unlike a father to a son, he cannot make another that "looks the same". Wartheft is the only advisor like Wartheft. Mootinie wasn't like him, Ganji isn't like him, Lex isn't like him, nobody else is like him. The traits that make us believe he is good at his position are the same reason we believe it's a bad idea for him to be demoted.
Without a logical reason to demote him aside from trust, we've lost an advisor that we feel does the job better than anyone else at this current time. If we had someone else who we could trust to step up and do as much work as Wartheft has done, this wouldn't have spiraled out of control like it did. No offence intended to Ganji, but the majority of us don't know him well enough to trust him to do as good of a job as Wartheft, which has significant value when Wartheft was the one who, essentially, kept this community from falling apart, both by dealing with members (and non-members) and making sure nothing spiraled out of control.
I suppose I can understand you well enough, with the premise that Doldol cannot trust Wartheft anymore, but even despite that, Wartheft couldn't help the community out as much, except in an Advisor position. The lack of trust was something that only needed to be dealt with professionally rather than personally. I've been close to people I disliked and distrusted plenty in my life, but that never stopped me from letting them have certain positions or do certain jobs, especially when I ran something and I needed their talents.
But, we all lead people differently, and that's just how I dealt with things.
Hope Doldol and Wartheft are both hanging in there, and that this doesn't end too badly. Thanks for your opinions Kharn. I'm sure both parties appreciate it.

I'm not entirely sure that we can assume it was personal, the reasons that Doldol gives are phrased from a professional standpoint, and there isn't much evidence that it was personal, other than speculation.
However, regardless of what any of us think, Kharn and Moot and Doldol are right. Doldol alone is the leader, he makes the decisions, we don't. It's all well and good to speculate and say what you think "should" be done, but it's not up to us and it never has been, and probably never will be. However, I do want to point out that it APPEARS that when Doldol took the vote to the other higher-ups that the majority disagreed, and thus the problem they have is him saying that they agreed, when in actuality they did not. If that's the case. Unless someone has a record of chat logs, TeamSpeak convos, etc., the only people who will ever really know what went down will be those that were directly involved.

Since everyone loves their analogies. - President/Prime Minister fires a minister the people love. The people vote out the politician. - CEO fires a beloved boss/manager. People start to leave the company.
Just find a way to make it work. All this "my way or highway" shit doesn't work for a community. Without the members there is no community. Ignoring countless complaints from every type of rank is a slap in everyones face. Only defense is, "'cause Doldol said so". Fuck that, listen to the members or the members might determine this is not the community for them.

Well said but you clearly can't fix arrogant. This is what they don't get they need to either start listening or they're going be talking to themselves real soon.

Not really much i can add to this besides generally saying "aww, now ya fucked up" or some stupid shit like that in regards to wartheft being demoted.
but just to be a smartass, doldol didnt really appoint wartheft to be advisor, kharn did. soo....only kharn should have the authority to demote wartheft???
^not a serious point, don't take it seriously. seriously, don't. its not good for your health to take stupid shit seriously.
But now to the serious stuff.
ya fucked up, hard.
while yes, its not good to have an advisor who is normally for the people, but this also means you have an insight on what the people are thinking...like maybe one day we thing of lynching roaxes...then the next want to discuss heavily about asses. because this is a gaming community...most of the time nothing is taken seri...redacted statement, shit is taken seriously.
ROAXES! YOU OWE ME A NEW TOASTER!
end of bullshittery

Technically Sloppy and Doldol promoted me from staff to Advisor. Kharn was on LOA and Sloppy was the only advisor at the time. However, since then the way promotions and decisions are made has changed, so it's arguably irrelevant.

I have an actual question. If Doldol never listens to his staff/advisors and think all of his members are "stupid", why the fuck does he want to be leader anyways?
