Wes Anderson, incredible film director.
Absolutely. I still really need to watch The Royal Tenenbaums though, I hear it's his best work. If you haven't seen Isle of Dogs, grab a few friends for a movie night and watch it, it's such a wonderful little piece of cinema. :-)

I am waiting until I get home to watch it with my brother, we were both obsessed with Fantastic Mr. Fox. So stoked!

The Perks of Being a Wallflower
Although some say it's an overrated film, it's truly a grade: A movie. Beyond the depressing, gloomy aspect of the film, it really gives an idea about the perks of solitary.

Alex Strangelove, The Package, & Adventures in Public School
Three very quirky films, all starring who seems to be a newer actor, Daniel Doheny. All w an unorthodox sense of directing, but it's what gave ea. film it's uniqueness. The Package is basically that stupid / cringy comedy that's practically what makes the film so stupid good. Adventures in Public School, prob. my favourite of the three, basically a raised at home kid who wants to experience public school by taking the place of an ill girl, but every bit about the film, w it's comedic values are beyond. And lastly, Alex Strangelove, truly a love so strange, quirky, and dumb stupid all at once. Don't watch the trailer(s) if you don't wanna watch the whole movie right away because netflix, or well, watch the trailers if you wanna watch the whole movie right away, because. netflix.

I hate those little Netflix trailers. For films that are not Netflix Originals, they are awful advertisements for the films themselves. Splicing stock music over random footage does such a disservice to some truly brilliant pieces of cinema.
Whiplash - Andrew (Miles Teller) is a 19 year old jazz drummer attending the best music school in America where he meets a music teacher (J.K. Simmons) that is determined to push the prodigy beyond mediocrity. It's a grounded story, barring one overly dramatic false note. Given that principal cinematography was achieved in just 17 days you can imagine how tight a production this is. It has to lean on the story, cinematography and the performances. Without all three working in tandem, there's very little manoeuvring that can be done in post-production to pull films like these together. Whiplash just grabbed me instantly because it's about being great and it reminded me that I need to work harder if I want to achieve something that will be remembered long after I'm committed to the earth. A real shot in the arm. 8.5/10

The Spectacular Now
Admire the concept of the movie because rom coms ftw; although, it could have been directed a bit better or at the very least had some sort of spoof to add to the chill. The premise of the film was the typical, party guy falls in love w the girl who just about sits alone at lunch enjoying a good novel. The cinema photography was well shot, the acting was smooth & natural. It has it's cute moments, but there were still some bits of the film that could have portrayed a bit more and/or incorporated to add to it's own uniqueness but definitely a rom com to add to the list. And to every said Divergent fan out there, yes Tris is now the boyfriend of Peter.

Great cast. Miles Teller, Brie Larson, Shailene Woodley (the girl in The Fault In Our Stars) and Bob Odenkirk. Hella strong, will add to my list.
