Like run from beneath them and jump on somebody. I would say it is skill based and valid

How is it skill based since there is always one or more at the bottom?

Well u need some skill to not end up at the bottom.
Whether it is a quick reaction, good timing of jumps, good planning in where u go or when u jump or on who u jump

Only thing I would say is that the warden gives a time by which the bottom guys die.
