This post is a discussion. (It's getting to be more heated than a discussion though) It hasn't been deleted and it seems at least one advisor+ doesn't intend to delete it.

You want a place to specifically not have to worry about how you word it, and for it to be completely unmoderated. Hate to tell you, but that's never going to happen. However, as long as you're not being overtly hostile, are spamming, or are trolling in your posts, you can have a discussion on the forums just fine. In other words, if you want to have a discussion about EgN related issues, all you have to do is follow the forum rules. If you have an issue with keeping discussions within forum rules (that we all agreed to follow when we joined) then perhaps the issue isn't with the community, but with you.

As for people corner plotting, some people don't want to follow forum rules (much like how you don't want to) and so they do the smart thing and keep their hostilities and their rants at least semi-private. Which is smart, because there are no real rules for private discussions (as long as nobody's being harassed). You're right, there's probably an echo-chamber effect going on in some of these discussions, but that's an unfortunately downside to keeping things within the rules that were agreed upon, and it's a downside to keeping infighting limited as much as possible. And, when the time comes that a discussion is made on the forums, they too will have to follow the forum rules.

Me suggesting to stay out of something they don't take seriously is not on the same level of silently removing messages from members in the chat box because I don't like them.
Clearly I don't have the authority to make someone not speak, nothing about my comment actually censored him.

Okay well I don't really know what happened, but I don't really support de-platforming as long as your opinion is maturely outed.

Imo in general I don't think people around here are particularly good at that, I'm sure if you guys are willing there is a middle-ground to be found.

How do you know he's not being serious? LOL! Even if its not "serious" it adds to the conversation. Your logic is pretty laughable. Its only censorship when you have the power to actually delete messages but its not when you straight up don't debate Koolaid's point but instead tell him to basically shut up when your whole point you are trying to stand up for is something you yourself aren't doing??
