I don't see an issue with your confidence. You've been putting your input around this community for a while now, which is great and we've always loved outside responses/inputs.
Just go to the application page, fill out what's necessary and hit submit. Your confidence will only grow in time in this community which you've shown you want to be a part of. In my perspective, confidence will only grow if you try it/go for what you want.
