Stop normalizing this shit lmao, "most" AAA titles do not have pay-to-win MTXs.

What do you mean by this? Just because other people bitch about the micro transactions doesnt mean everyone is forced not to give EA their money. Goop likes the game for the game, not the politics behind them. We just like to over evaluate the smallest of details. Two different kinds of people.

It's not politics, it's literally a part of the game. People who have money progress faster than people who don't. It's fucking ridiculous. And once this becomes the norm, they're gonna find some new way to fuck over gamers. It's never-ending, which is why gamers need to take a stand and tell companies like EA to fuck off with their greedy bullshit.

Birthstone, it is the norm..pay to play/pay to play/play to win isnt new. Gamers did take a stand, they got rid of their micro transactions not because people were pissed about having to pay to unlock them, but because they were making it impossible to unlock powerful characters. These methods helps companies grow and afford the time they put into their games. As someone who went through a few game development classes, I am fully aware of both sides of the spectrum. Sure, its easier to make games, but it takes more time to get the tiniest of details to make the game superb. Gamer's dont need to take a stand against companies who use the previously stated methods, because that's what game companies have to do to keep going higher.

Nintendo released several remakes and pointless games just to be able to afford to make the Switch and all the wonderful games that came with it. Improvement like that comes with a huge cost. So don't always think they are taking your money and running off with it. They use that money for much bigger projects. EA is shit, we all know that they haven't improved and they are a bunch of greedy shit stains on the fabric of gaming. Though, believe that the companies you do like are always trying to improve.

Most games nowadays wither it's a mobile phone game up to Call of Duty has ways that you can pay real money and get rewards in games.

Yes but very few of those games allow those rewards to give you an advantage over other players.

That's simply not true. There's so many games that are offered without game-breaking lootboxes. Overwatch, Witcher 3, virtually every Nintendo Switch game. To say it's normal is to defend companies with evil business practices.

As I already said, 1. it's not the norm and 2. it's not new but that doesn't mean we have to accept it just because people have been doing it for a while

Mr.GoldGames wrote:

You mean the microtransactions they're bringing back at a later date? Sad to see you got fooled by that bullshit announcement as well.

Again, see my response to Goop. Plenty of developers and publishers make excellent games without resorting to putting gambling mechanics in their games which give players unfair advantages.

Did those games have pay-to-win microtransactions?

EA Fucked up Battlefront. They're fucking up Battlefront 2. Previously, they fucked up the Dungeon Keeper mobile remake. They fucked up the Sim City remake. The list goes on.

The objective evidence shows that they are not trying to improve at all. To look at all of this evidence, and STILL give EA the benefit of the doubt, is fucking delusional.

Norms are ways of behaving that are considered normal in a particular society. ... If you say that a situation is the norm, you mean that it is usual and expected. Which is basically most games in circulation right about now.

I do believe I said that EA was shit and I was referring to other game companies but eh I guess you make a valid point when you don't even fully quote what I say.

Also, let be honest. The last good game EA released was Army of Two: The 40th Day* sooooooooo.

Except it's not normal. I just listed plenty of beloved, recent games that do not use pay-to-win microtransactions, or no microtransactions at all. PUBG, Wolfenstein 2, Super Mario Odyssey, BotW, Destiny 2, Cuphead, Pokemon Ultra Sun + Moon, Forza 2017, all critically acclaimed and fan beloved games that came out THIS YEAR that don't rely on pay-to-win gambling schemes to grift money from their customers.

It's objectively not normal.

Yeah I misread that, not sure why you brought up supporting other game companies though, we're not talking about supporting good ones, we're talking about not supporting shitty ones.

Since when did this start to becoming a meme thread?

Everyone's hating on EA but I don't even find games made by EA that bad. I thoroughly enjoyed Battlefield 1...

Also, 2 images doesn't make a meme thread. We've had some good sharing of ideas in here. We're not attacking the developer, DICE. DICE makes wonderful games. The problem is that EA puts their grubby little fingers into everything their developer makes, and sucks the soul out of it in order to get as much money as possible.

Hell, Disney CEO Bob Iger HIMSELF called EA to express their concern with their handling of BF2. They're legitimately worried that EA's fuck up could hurt Disney selling merchandise for The Last Jedi. That alone should show you how flawed this game it.

I'm loving Battlefront 2. People will always let the internet influence them to say and act in ways they don't really care about. I bought the game to see if I liked it on my own and Im really glad I did it's super fun

Look, I'm glad you like the game, but don't belittle the opinions of others. EA is a flat-out evil company.
