Disney announced on Tuesday it's plans to start removing their films from streaming services, to start their own starting in 2019. They also plan to launch ESPN streaming service in 2018

It's not really pulling it from Netflix though, Netflix bought the rights to Disney movies from 2016-2019, so they'll be there basically until Disney begins their own streaming service, which I'd gladly pay for.

Also an ESPN streaming service? What? Sports is basically the only reason most people have cable nowadays, this is probably one of the final nails in the coffin for them.

Hence why they aren't starting their streaming service until 2019, in which they will pull their films and put them on their own services :( It's nothing that we will see happening right away, but at least we got a heads up for time to come. And yeah, pretty much every cable company has a sports package as their biggest seller. Curious to see how Dish Network / Direct-TV solve this.

Probably with more anti-consumer bullshit and higher prices, because they've been out of touch with their customers for a couple of decades now.
