Due to a recent shitstorm in Jailbreak, I'd like some clarification over this line:
"Admins are not allowed to Ban/Kick/Slay a EgN Member, only Staff+ may take action against an EgN Member. Veterans are now allowed to use admin on lower ranking members of the clan up to and excluding ban in order to enforce the rules."
So, it specifically mentions Banning, kicking, and slaying. It says that Veterans can do this, but members can't.
It also says later "Remember that you are not allowed to target any member of EgN, this excludes recruits"
So which is it? It seems that we're not allowed to target members, but it singles out certain behaviors earlier in the same thread, and says nothing towards muting EgN members who, for example, are repeatedly micspamming over warden.
If this is the case, is muting the entire team of the offending EgN member the suitable course of action? Because I was told by a Veteran that wasn't against the rules, but targeting a certain member is. This seems like overkill, makes much more sense to just temporarily mute someone.

Dont use your admin on anyone that has the EgN | tag. You are allowed to mute a whole group if they are interfering with the gameplay. This does not mean you can mute the whole T team cause 1 EgN member is annoying you, ask him/her to stop. If this person refuses you make a demo and report that person. Justice will be served by our Staff team then.
If you are a trusted member you will become Veteran and you are allowed to use admin on anyone below Veteran, you are not allowed to ban anyone wearing the EgN | tag when you are a veteran.

That's actually really interesting because the rules basically use wordplay on the subject "up to and excluding ban"
Like, the phrase people use is "up to and including," I thought veterans were allowed to ban because I assumed the person made a typo, "up to and excluding" isn't really ever said. "Up to BUT excluding" would make more sense.
Like I'm legit not trying to be a grammar nazi here, but the rules could be a LOT more clear. Like I said, I used to be veteran here for a pretty long time and the rules were pretty succinct, but now it seems there's a lot more open to interpretation.

I appreciate you bringing this up, and I will try my best to clarify what the actual rule we set in stone are.
You are not allowed to target a Member if you are not a Veteran+ if you are taking action on them. People have heard that you are allowed to gag/mute an EgN Member if they are doing something wrong, and that is wrong. People have heard in the past that it is okay to use your admin on another member as long as it doesn't interfere with game play, and that is also wrong.
What we expect is for you to make a complaint, or tell the person to stop talking over you. However, we are looking over the rules, and we will be keeping this post in mind. For now, just stick to making a complaint, or trying your best to defuse the conversation.
Though, if you are an admin on Jailbreak, and you see a member, who does not have admin, messing up then you have authority over him. You can kindly ask him to stop doing what he is doing, and if you have a problem with it still, you can speak to one of the Staff+, and we can handle it from there.
Hope this helped.

Another thing you could consider is asking someone higher ranking to step in and help out. From what it looked like in your situation there was a Vet there that could of done something about it. Although it looked like he just wanted to constantly unmute everyone.

Just to help you with the server ranking:

Admin Member Admin Elite Admin Veteran
This means that if youre a member admin and you encounter someone like Roaxes (who is not an admin but is Veteran) mic spamming, he is supposed to listen to the member/elite/veteran admin.

Admins in this clan are admins. Now members are given admin because we trust them to administrate the server and enforce the rules. Players are obviously expected to both follow the rules and obey the admins. Just because you may be in the clan does not mean you are above the rules or better than the admins. You are expected to follow what the admin says, regardless of their rank or relation to you. If averesan told Roaxes to slay himself because he freekilled, well, Roaxes is expected to slay himself because the admin said so. Now admins of different ranks are still expected to respect one anothers' opinions and decisions and work them out together.
I was talking to Geeza about this yesterday and I thank him for relating it to this particular complaint. But here's what happened yesterday and what I told Geeza. A member yesterday was accusing another member of freekilling in the admin chat (neither are admins). The other admins online instantly looked to Eagle and I to handle this, because we are a veteran and staff member that, per the rules of the clan, are allowed to target members and higher ranking. Now this is where a lot of admins seem to start getting confused and conflicts arise. You are admins. Like I said above, you have authority on the servers and players are expected to listen to you. It's been stressed and said before that a member that does not listen to an admin deserves to be reported and far worse will happen to them than if they were a regular player doing this, because they should know much better, not to mention supposed to set an example. Just because you can't target a member, doesn't mean you shouldn't enforce the rules! Do as you would for a normal player and follow the order of operations. I asked Geeza what he would've done had Eagle and I not been there, and he did the right thing to investigate what happened, asked others for input, and finally asked the member in question to slay themself, in which the member did.
Using this example, I'd like to elaborate on what appears to be a common misconception;

This does NOT mean that if a higher ranking admin is on that you should not administrate the server. You should go about your normal admin routines and handle rule breaking as you otherwise would. All this rule is saying that an admin who outranks you has priority over you in determining the right thing to do in a situation. If a Veteran says they are going to ban an MFKer, an Elite shouldn't ban the MFKer. That's all this rule says, its super simple. There's rules saying "it's up to the highest ranking admin if..." Now these are really particular, and the rules should explain themselves. In short, please don't stop administrating the server just because a higher ranking admin is online, and anyone in the clan, please listen to the admins and make sure you follow the rules!
This looks great averesan, thanks for this.
EDIT: An old post that I like that perhaps can help with this

As a member you can be limited on the action you take, that is when you refer to a Higher ranking admin which could be any of the ranks above you. Don't forget that as a Member admin, your decision can be changed or outweighed by the highest ranking admin, in which is your queue to let them handle it.
That doesn't stop you from sorting situations out when a higher ranking admin is on, that is totally fine, all you can't to is change or modify the decision made by the highest ranking admin.
Also, if you are the only admin online, you are also the highest ranking admin.

Roaxes would never...
