Having gotten that out of the way, I am genuinely curious as to why people are choosing to scrim 5v5 in CS:S. Is it mostly people that can't run CS:GO well due to hardware restrictions, or are there other specific reasons you prefer CS:S for this format of gameplay? As I said, I am genuinely curious regarding your point of view.

Some people genuinely like the game mechanics of source more than global offensive, especially those who have been playing counter-strike from the beginning (already know the spray patterns, how the guns works, etc). Hit detection is different, physics have been heavily changed, guns work differently, so on. Before I started playing CS:GO a lot I couldn't tell the difference between the CT's and the T team xd but that was 2 or almost 3 years ago. Just based off preference. But also to anyone who says "it's easier" that said then it'd still be as difficult being that "anyone can get good at it". You'd be going against those who more than likely have the same set of skills or more than you. Possibly less, but that goes for CS:GO as well.

Completely agree. After a year or two of only playing csgo then going back to CSS, CSS came super easy to me. Bhopping was so much easier, and guns actually do damage.

Personally I prefer CS:GO as far as competitive gameplay goes because it feels more fleshed-out and tactical. The game simply (to me) shows the fact it has gotten a lot of attention and work from valve in order to improve it. Utility usage, as well as how you hold/peek angles seems to be more in-depth in CS:GO compared to CS:S, possibly also due to simpler/blander maps in CS:S.

having said that, there is something about CS:S that really does feel "smooth". I always did feel like tap-playstyle as well as movement always felt great in CS:S compared to CS:GO, which is a big part of why I still prefer CS:S as far as custom gamemodes go. I can see how some would prefer that for competitive as well though I guess, just depends a bit what you're looking for in a game.

At least to me, I'd say CS:GO has a lower or equal skill floor but a higher skill ceiling compared to CS:S. It feels to me like there's a greater limit to how much I can learn/improve at in CS:S compared to CS:GO, if that makes sense.

Oh for sure, when going about competitiveness I would most definitely swing towards CS:GO but again, just preference. People play for different reasons.

From the beginning? How does that make sense if CSGO is more like 1.6 then CSS? CSGO is literally a love-letter to players of 1.6, i.e. those who have played from the beginning. Just because you can’t 360 noscope an awp shot to the dick from the other side of the map doesn’t make it a bad game.

Huh? I'm saying those who have been playing source for awhile will probably enjoy it more than GO being that they are use to the mechanics.

CSS is dead ass easy to play compared to any other version of CS. Spray patterns are predictable and pretty close together, recoil is lessened by alot, i mean dont get me its fun but it really doesnt take a whole lot of skill to be good at it.
