It is kinda stupid that a recording that shows exactly what happened, no doubt atall isn't evidence enough... when you can see it clearly with your own eyes (Cooper's report) that the person did actually mfk 14 people. Shouldn't be that hard to ban him for that... (Also has a previous MFK ban)
The thing with this is that if said person did mfk 14 people thats enough time to start a demo and catch at least some of the incident. Other forms of evidence such as youtube videos are not allowed specifically because they are easily tampered with. What if its someone you specifically don't like? Theres no evidence that you wouldnt intentionally try to get them banned by making a video of them "mfking". I don't know thats how I see it anyway.
This is like saying screenshots aren’t valid because they could be tampered with, demos can also be cut to the persons liking just the same as a video. The only difference is a video is simple as clicking a link, while a demo you have to download the file, put it in the right file, open source, try to use the buggy demoui to viw the demo and deal with various crashes and freezes just to handle a report. This doesn’t include the work that the person who is making the report has to go through in order to provide “valid” evidence.
Aside from the fact it is easier and much less tedious, it’s pretty easy to see if someone is making a real report or just trying to get people in trouble. If the video clearly shows someone screaming “Fuck the server!” and killing everyone for no reason then why wouldn’t it be clear enough to see what they were trying to do? The word of trusted people from within EgN should always be taken over the words of an outsider, unless it is clear there is something fishy going on which is pretty easy to tell 99% of the time. Like I said before, if a video is unclear or not a solid piece of evidencr, don’t take it just like you would a demo of the same nature. Not allowing videos is just a hassle for all parties.

Cooper has quite the point here. I completely agree with this. For all we know, the screenshot might not even be MFK, maybe it’s just someone killing people on a warday for all we know.
Matt, I’d also say that when you do report someone with the demos that the demo bot records, the reporter should go into the demo, find the tick, and put it in the report, since you can enter the tick in the demo UI. If they don’t, ask them to.

Maybe you missed this part, but the SourceTV Demo's can only be accessed if you have access to the server. This is why I mentioned very specific timestamps are needed.

He means opening up the demo files to the public and requiring individuals to add tick marks if using said demos.

.dem (demo) cannot be tampered easily since it's the raw file of the source engine (hl2) than other video platform (.avi, etc). For example, you could change the vocal, and add another vocal over it saying "this server is so fucking stupid" Screenshots are valid and invalid in some-ways, excluding admin, you need a demo instead of screenshot, but for racial slurs, etc, totally acceptable. Not many people in this clan know how to photoshop/edit a picture, changing up text, etc. CS:S is a game that was created in November 1, 2004; a really old game that doesn't have that much feature compared to CS:GO. You cannot skip during the demo, since it wasn't even implemented, so you'll need to fast-forward 600% to find the clip. Would not even crash, if the lag is high enough, it would crash but that's it. As Yiggles said, timp-stamps are pretty important. And your point about trusted people within EgN should be trusted than a outsider makes no sense; EgN people including admins and regulars have all the same right, if this ban was awfully unjustified, then they would make a ban-report, include evidence, add a description of what happened, etc and it would be over-looked by higher-up, and get that certain admin a punishment, which you really can't tell 99% of the time unless fully investigated the scene. Just to add your new post, you can just record the demo BEFORE, if it continously happening, easy ban and have no need to get access to SourceTV. Even if it was extremely successful in a different community (EmD or also known as NsG), all communities have different standards, as your jailbreak server was CS:GO.

Your generalization that "not many people in this clan know how to photoshop/edit a picture" can be applied to editing videos as well then. There is also support for going to specific ticks in the CSS demoui.
Let me put it this way. At least from my point of view.
When you have an admin make a ban report, we hold them to standards. They know and abide by these. We have chose demos to be the only accepted video format. If we want to argue that screenshots can be edited, yeah it's true. But I (at least when I was a higher up) only accepted screenshots as evidence in a ban report from an admin. If it wasn't an admin, obviously their word has less ground behind it. In these cases, I just have other members validate the story. This is why listing witnesses is important in reports.
If there's any funny business or suspected edits in a screenshot, that is something we can easily fact-check by going through the servers logs. Videos are different. I can't CTRL+F or even easily navigate through demo files (thanks source engine).
