On November 27th, Kensington Palace announced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are engaged and are said to be married in the spring of 2018. Meghan Markle is an american actress, best known for her role in Suits. She is 36 years old, with a passion of acting and humanitarian work. In 2011 she was married to actor and producer Trevor Engelson, however the marriage only lasted two years. In the Summer of 2016 she met Prince Harry through a mutual friend, and in September of 2017 the two were spotted together at the Invictus Games in Toronto Canada.



Prince Harry is the 5th in line for the british throne after Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte. Prince Harry is 33 years old, with a passion of sports and the military. After the death of his mother, Princess Diana in 1997, Harry struggled into his late 20s to come to terms with his mother's loss. He is doing okay now and talks openly about what memories he has made with her.

Most people inside the UK don't even care as far as I know.

They are not just the UK’s Royal Family. For one, the queen is still Australia’s head of state.

Is she just the honorary head of state? I wouldn't figure she has any executive control at all, I didn't even know that

Pretty much. But her and her family are still something that is followed pretty closely. I would imagine it's similar for a lot of the other Commonwealth counties (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commonwealth_of_Nations) All of which choose to be "associated" with the queen
