My moto is sort of the same, I only focus on the present, but it doesn't keep me from
pushing away the past. It's a matter of balance between all three ideas. Past, present, and future. All three are important, and yoy can't ignore the fact that even if you are living in the present, at some point you will see the future that could be the difference between depression and happiness. I have had tough times that lasted for years. My mom had been in an abusive relationship and I would always try to save her from it. Alas, there was nothing I could do, and she was scared of what might happen to her if she tried to leave. So eventually, she turned on me and would push his brutal practices against me through her. I thought about a lot of things while the years went by. I damn near went crazy by the end of it. But I saw the future. I knew that at some point, my mom and I would be free, and now that I'm in the future, I can say that I'm happy more so than I've ever been.

Touching on the past. That's more of a, "What have you done?" And "How should I react to so and so based off previous interactions". I've been lied to so many god damn times, it's to the point where it's hard to trust people. People I loved, random folks, and teachers. Liars can take any form in the population and manipulate you into doing their bidding. I can't say I don't miss my loved ones even if they have lied to me to the point of exhaustion. But I have to move forward in order to overcome any sadness that plagued my mind.

The present will forever be important. Without the present, we won't have a future. You should make everyday that you wake to, an amazing day. If you don't, then you sort of upset the balance. We need to be steady in present times otherwise your future would be gloomy. Being only in the present is a good and bad thing. You have to be able to reflect on the past and able to look into the future. The past gives us knowledge of what we've done wrong while the future gives us reason.

Once again, we must always take all three factors into play here, because if we spend too much time in one area. We will forever be trapped to one mindset of living.
