I wasn't gonna weigh in on this thread at all and I'm not here to start arguments or make people angry. But I feel like I need to say something. We as a community are indeed being divided. Not just between us as members but between Staff and members as well. The lack of communication between people is really disturbing. It seems to me (and simplistic touched on this a little, don't screech at me if I'm repeating.) That everyone has their separate cliques and channels they do indeed hang out in where they form like minded ideas on how things should be. This is a form of separation. Yes we bought those channels and we chose to stay in those cliques but we're separating ourselves in favor for people who are like minded or we like better. We should be encouraging more people to want to be around us and communicate better to reach our goal of a better community not just be around members who think like us. I feel like ranks do this as well. You're giving people ranks that set them up to a certain status quo to be held to higher or lower values of one another. This in turn causes anger and jealousy and ill-feelings when ranks can do things over others or people can get away with more things because of it. I'm not saying get rid of it, it's been around longer than me and so far has seemed to work but its just food for thought. I don't agree with any kind of censorship period, this is the internet its supposed to be censorship free. I agree with a lot of the people in this thread saying how the idea of the separation was being presented was wrong and in a negative light. There are more helpful ways to go about bringing opinions then screaming about it in chatbox. However, Staff could also have simply asked for you to stop or had a one on one conversation before deleting or editing comments. But this brings me back to my biggest issue. I don't like the way Goldgames left the staff team but he brought up one important topic that has been on my mind since he stepped down. Why do Staff feel the need to hide things from us like we can't handle it? Why are there so many things that are hidden from us that we're not allowed to know about simply because they believe we are children that can't handle the truth? I saw Bri say she talks to staff regularly and communicates with them to fix problems. I applaud that. But why does it take only certain individuals to approach staff to fix things? Why are Staff not completely more open to come to us or communicate with us about whats going on or tell us things. DJ and I had a conversation recently about this and he suggested that we have a staff day where we all come in and speak to staff and they explain their roles and what exactly they do so they're not shrouded in mystery. If the mysticism behind the staff was gone or the gap between them and us as members would be bridged I feel it would help our problems tenfold. Then we can avoid things like censoring because the line of communication would be completely open.
Nice post but I disagree with the fact we are hiding things from you, you aren’t missing out on much. FYI.
