The problem with the events (maybe) is its every week, If the event was maybe once every month and everyone on the team worked on something it could turn out even better. I think the worktime you have for an event is maybe to little. And then people have something to look forward to and maybe feel more obligated to join since its not every week.
The expectation from the staff might change if you told them the situation and try to change the strategy since it seems like it is not working as intended.

For example: If we have a map who is not used very much, have it as an event map. Every month or so we can change it, or have like 4 or 5 diffrent gamemodes or so we change every month, It attracts all kinds of people and if they join on a new day with a new gamemode they will meet new people who like that and by that meet a whole other community. The thing we want is people to stay and that means they have to accept us as a community and we have to accept them. with a big variety on an event server we could possibly have that.

With the event server we could also make some tournements and so on.
For example: Surf competition
Soccer competition
Even Gungame where we fill up the server like a battle royale.
Bhop Contest
Even a 1v1 sniping contest to see who has the most skill with a certain weapon (doesnt have to be a sniper)

We have so many possibilities, i just think you might be lacking the time to make it work. This would also make the development team and the event team more closer since it seem abit similar or atleast it could be if you worked together ;)

If had the same issue in another group once where we put alot of time in some event, but they came to quickly after each other and people started not to care and went back to what they liked more. Im sure we are gonna find a solution. But the solution might result in changes to the expectations of the event team.

I could continue for a long time but ill have to say, i love that you made this post to get everyones thoughts!

I'll say it for the third time, even though the last two times no one acknowledged it:
Some of us have shitty jobs where we work weekends and sometimes at night. Maybe before deciding the date and time of an event you guys could survey the members on what days/times they are available. All you need is an excel spreadsheet.

Because we have servers where we already play on. Stuff like board games and quizzes or jeopardy's doesn't take that much time to do no. But if you want a big event where every is there, you have to plan it better, and get people to hype about it, and that seems a bit short on time with only a week. 1 month might be to much but, the idea was to give the event team some more time to do the events. :)

Im just trying to help. no need to explain that we are a gaming network ;)
