ukno wit depression n whatever it may be, the need to escape reality is a main cause/reason for addiction. for me it was xanax for years but we passed that now ... the only thing that really helps is Music

-accept the hardship for what it is and acknowledge that you are not the only person affected by it
-appreciate the benefits that u experienced out of it
-reflect on the situation on what u might have done differently but never regret anything because there is nothing wrong with learning from a situation
-dont let people know ur situation or how you are feeling unless you have to. there is a fine line between sympathy and pity, u dont need either. it will only make u feel worse
-do something that is physically exhausting. the negative feelings will fuel your activity. push yourself till you collapse

Well... The last time I fell into depression was about a month and a half ago. I was love sick. So I just listened to love songs. Sometimes depressing ones. Cry'd myself to sleep someday's after coming home from school. I'd talk to my really good friend about it from time to time. But all of this.... Didn't help. It passed through time. That's how I grieve. I let time pass.
