Quit before you start taking it too seriously. It's not worth the time, or the effort. I might quit. Stop before you go criminally insane like me.
Are you going insane over your rank or what? Have you tried out CEVO, FACEIT, ESEA? I'm LE but all I am seeing is a lot of fresh accounts.
I did play ESEA for a couple of months. I wasn't a fan, its matchmaking system is almost non-existant. One game, I got put against a Global when everybody else in the game was DMG/LE. He dropped like 40 and completely wrecked us all en route to winning 16-1. And, I actually found it to be less competitive than Valve matchmaking. That was very off-putting for me, it felt kinda casual, almost like the players playing it were simply warming up or didn't care about the result of the match because they didn't lose anything. I was DMG at the time though, so playing against mostly LE's helped me learned a few things - such as, tighter peeks, always holding an angle that has a fire exit (as in, you can turn around and find cover pretty easily), certain grenades and good positions, but yeah, not a great experience overall.
All I hear from CEVO and FACEIT is that they're both full of shit players. Aren't they both free? I always hear that because they're free, people will just grief and troll because they don't care, they aren't paying for it like you do with ESEA, so why play it as its intended to be played, y'know?
In answer to your first question: I'm going insane because I care too much about my rank. I dropped 25 the other day when solo queueing, it felt fantastic. But that was against all LEM's, and my friends are all around about Supreme. So I am constantly against better players. Saying that, I have always played against better players. My friends have always been better and I've always been trying to catch up. I was MG2 when they were MGE, I was MGE when they were DMG. I played about 20 games straight with Towbeh when we were both DMG. He got LE before me. I lost my rank game. Now I'm this LEM scruberino playing against Supremes and Globals, I almost always finish 3rd, 4th or 5th. I have to keep telling myself it's because they are higher ranks but y'know, there comes a time when it isn't fun. These last two days haven't been fun.
That, and I expected certain things in the higher ranks. I don't know who it was, might have been Black Knight, but I remember talking to somebody about this. You're in a certain rank, and you think, once you get out, everything will be better. It never gets better, it only gets worse. Playing with people that don't communicate when you reach LE is worse than when people don't communicate in the Nova's. You'll get punished far more harshly in the higher ranks for your mistakes than you will in the lower ranks, and it can be quite painful.

Moot how long have you been at LEM? I find I always get stuck at certain ranks, especially ones that transfer into a new set. Will literally play 50 games before I made it out of NM, to get out of SEM it took me 100

Around about four weeks I think. Yeah, those are elo jumps. It happens when there's just so many people at a rank. DMG is one of the hardest to rank out of, or at least it used to be.

Yeah moot I know the feeling! always chasing my brother who is always higher rank than me. The fun goes out of it and your basically stuck in an endless loop of "trying", until you break free then you feel amazing!
Getting to higher ranks really does punish way more. I haven't played comp at my level in about 3 weeks now. I basically occupied my brothers second account(RussianZa) which is MG and him being at MGE or DMG not sure. When I watch him play everything is so much more "quicker" you miss you dead basically, your team fails in their plan or the communication is zero you get owned. Basically he can't go a day without playing anymore, lot's of times he gets so mad he just go to sleep because of it. When and if he ranks down no one talks to him, his rank means a lot to him. There is of course the other side as well, being if you rank up you get that amazing feeling again.
In that times of it not being fun you should just hang in or take a break, but i wouldn't know I helped him out on one of his games he was carrying his team by like 20 points. I played 5 rounds and got 1 kill and 1 assist. he went from the top to 3rd in 5 rounds, at least they still won.
So I guess the fun is in ranking up?
Vivre la vie!

MrGoldGames « Wed May 25, 2016 3:47 am » Im fucking done with people not taking this clan seriously. Honestly do what you were fuckign told to do, or dont leave. Its as simple as that. If you dont wanna fucking play by the rules and be a fucking douche canoe, then fucking go away. This clan is important to alot of people and they want to enjoy themselves on here. Good servers arent found easily on CSS anymore because its dying. So people look up to our clan and say, "Hey these guys are cool and help me keep playing CSS." So if you want to fuck with this clan, be fucking cancer to it, or just straight out bash the clan, GET THE FUCK OUT! No one gives a shit about you if you do that. No one fucking wants to see your dumbass on here again. Take your shit seriously, or fuck off you uncultured swines. Holy shit...
Why do you guys care so much about a not-really-so representative sticker slapped on you by some algorithm?
Been there, done that. No regrets, never give up on what's important. Prioritize. Happiness is all that matters. I really like meowers but can't own any for the time being.

The fun is in winning close games, you know, when they go down to the wire and you just win. I love those games. Saying that, losing isn't so bad when you frag well.

Bragging rights, the pride of being better than somebody else. I know, I like being good at things, haha.
