Months ago, I bought a one-day pass to New York Comic Con, and yesterday, I finally got to go. I'll just give everyone brief "bullet" points of my experience...

-It was my dad's birthday so he made me take as many pictures as possible of him with barely-clothed female cosplayers.
-I attended MAD Magazine's panel (yes, there was talk of Spy vs. Spy), and it was one big political roast-a-thon, mixed with celebrity jokes and whatnot. As a bonus, anyone who asked a question was awarded a prize: a MAD snapback. Everyone in the room got MAD Magazine samplers made especially for the convention.
-As a die-hard South Park fan, I attended their trivia game, the Member Berry Challenge. Two people at a time, and three questions each unless there's a sudden death elimination tie breaker, and for me and my opponent, we went into a sudden death, with me coming out as the victor. She lost, and got sprayed with purple-colored water ("Member Berry juice"), while I walked away dry and with two Member Berry bouncy balls and one of those generic "I (Heart) NY" shirts, but rather than a heart, it's Randy Marsh taking a shit on it! I'd send you all a pic of me holding the shirt in the middle of the busy convention center but I'm not comfortable with a face reveal yet.
-I got to operate a small R2-D2 toy using an iPad, like one of those BB-8 toys from Target but with R2. I would've bought it if it wasn't $179.99.
-I met a few people... Tom Cook (Hanna-Barbera, The Simpsons), Rob DenBleyker (Cyanide & Happiness), technically the MAD Magazine staff since I asked a question, last but absolutely not least, Tara Strong (Powerpuff Girls, Teen Titans, etc.).
-I nearly shit my pants (no joke) because of how unbelievably horrible convention food is. I had to walk awkwardly with ass cramps to one of the NYCC gender-neutral bathrooms since the normal bathrooms had long ass lines.
-I bought a signed Wolfenstein comic for $6, which made me ecstatic for some reason even though it's the second issue in the series and I'm already an issue behind.

There's probably a few things I'm forgetting, but those are the major things that happened. If you haven't been to NYCC, I highly recommend it.

That sounds awesome. I would go to one of these types of things but the sheer amount of crowds and B.O. makes me rethink those choices unless I go with some friends. Meeting Tara Strong is something that sounds super cool, I imagine she showed off a few of her voices?

My dad and I had no intentions of waiting in the long ass lines outside, so we settled for the shorter lines inside. Grave mistake for me and my bowels. I'll be sure to grub on some food stands on my way to the convention center next year for sure.

My God, some of these people had NO IDEA how to walk. Many times my dad and I were trapped behind people walking slow as hell, despite no one even being in front of them. And Tara Strong, despite being 45 minutes late to her signing, was an absolute blast to meet. She signed my Powerpuff Girls graphic novel and did Bubbles's voice for me. Shit was so cash.
