So I left this clan on good status last year right as I was starting a new career. It was going to be time consuming and I found that I started taking an interest into other things. I soon found myself quite inactive here at EgN and figured it was time to let someone else take the spotlight who was probably more motivated (that person was apparently Savage). I left this clan at a time when everything was "peachy". Everyone got along great, there were seldom any bans in the servers, and drama was hard to come by. There were roughly 60 people in this small community that knew each other very well.

Time went on and soon I found myself surfing the forums again. I somehow found some extra time to check everything out and see how things were. My gaming lull came to an end and I was soon back at my computer checking the forums every couple of minutes to see if there were any new posts. I joined the jailbreak server to find a constant 10-15 players which made me happy that our servers were finally being populated. Kharn and Doldol soon took notice of my increase in activity and allowed me to wear the Supporter tag. It's not common that you see someone wearing that tag. It was a cool feeling having the new people have no clue who this "Supporter guy" was, but apparently he knew everything about EgN lol.

Things picked up pretty quickly around December with an abnormally large amount of applicants. People were being promoted, and others were stepping up to the plate. Maybe someone dropped a population bomb in jailbreak, because that server literally filled up in the past few months to the point that EgN actually had to expand the slots, which was unheard of throughout the time that I've been around. The past month has basically kicked things into overdrive with the jailbreak server being constantly full and as many as 60ish applications were made. The leaders seemed to have their hands full which prompted me to rejoin the community to lend a helping hand.



Right, so here we are. The climate has changed from mellow to quarrelsome, bans are being handed out like candy, and rules are being tossed to the side. With what has happened in the past week or two, it almost seems like the Wild West. Well, I think some things need to be brought forth and reminded to everyone so we can keep things in check so we can have a healthy expansion and move on to bigger and better things.


Admin:
1. It is a privilege, not a right. If you abuse it, you lose it. We don't "buy" admin in this community, but rather receive it as a gift for donating. That donation shows that you are willing to help this community grow and we want to give you the tools so you can accomplish that.
2. You are the example in the server, or as Judge Dredd once said, "I AM THE LAW!!!". If a cop comes up to you and abuses his power, you will most likely hate that cop. If it happens more than once, you tend to create a stereotype that all cops abuse their power. Don't be that cop that ruins it for others.
3. Admin chat using @ and is for ADMIN PURPOSES ONLY. Do not use it to spam the number of the map that you want people to vote for. It's like parking your cop car wherever you want, whenever you want, just because you're a cop. Only park it in those spots if it is for an emergency (ie. Use admin chat only for admin purposes).
4. Just because you're an admin doesn't mean you know everything. Hell, there are new rules that are made that sometimes get past me. There is no reason to yell or bitch at someone for not knowing a rule. Simply let that person or persons know that what they are doing is wrong. Again, you are representing the entire clan by your actions.
5. You would be amazed at how much you can accomplish by just asking people nicely. I was given admin in the jailbreak server when SourceMod was down and I just asked everyone nicely to balance out the teams. We had volunteers switch around and I only had to kick one person. People tend to respond better to kindness.
6. DO NOT USE ADMIN ON OTHER MEMBERS!


Rules of Conduct:
1. DO NOT DISRESPECT EACH OTHER. This is a no-brainer. It seems to be happening a lot. If you are found to be disrespecting anyone, you will be demoted or removed, plain and simple. There should be a zero tolerance for that in this clan.
2. The language needs to be toned down. Whether this be in-game or on the forums. Don't use the word nigger in public. It really makes us look immature when it comes to recruiting people. If we look immature we will most likely attract immature people into the clan.
3. Use the chain of command for everything. If there is a problem with the Jailbreak server I go to cats. If he is nowhere to be found then I move on to Doldol. If he's afk then I'll finally ask Kharn. If I was Kharn I would hate to have 250 people asking me questions. And that's why we have a chain of command.


Random:
1. Don't tell anyone "Hey, message me". That logic is stupid.
2. We have Private Messages on the forums for a reason. Don't make threads for a question directed at one person.
3. There is absolutely no reason to constantly be on the mic in-game. Use chat as much as possible. For those that haven't noticed, I do and it works quite well.
4. For those in the Jailbreak server, please explain the rules of each game. There are constantly new people coming in that are unaware of how the games are played. There are some people that don't know what "odd man out" is.


There's a whole slew of other things that should be mentioned, but you can find those within their respected threads. These are just some of the things I wanted to touch base on. There's going to be a lot going on in the future and I hope people step up to the plate to help out. The leaders deserve the help after all that they've put into building this clan from the ground up. So do the right thing so we can move forward and grow. And one last thing, just play the game and have fun! It's not often that you get to be friends with people all over the world.

My issue isn't that people are bitching (well, it sorta is). My issue is that people aren't trying to be better friends. This is a place to have fun, not to create more stress and arguments with others. Treat it like that.
