That's unfortunately common, college professors get paid bullshit. I'm good friends with one of my professors and she gets paid $3500 / semester. PER. SEMESTER. She's been teaching for like 20 years. She's written dozens of journal articles. Yet that's all the colleges can pay her unless she wants to do tenure track, which basically means kissing ass for a decade.
I'd love to teach some day but shit, it ain't gonna be for the money.
Hopefully shit calms down soon.
