Weeeeeeell... It was about that time that I noticed that this staff member was actually 8 stories tall and a giant crustacean from the Paleolithic era. I said "Damn it, Siberiac! Get off muh lawn! I ain't givin' you no tree fiddy! Get yo' own God damn money!" and he said "How 'bout just two fiddy?" and I said "Oh so now it's only two fiddy! What is there a sale on Siberiac Samoas?" Don't that just be the darndest thing.

From what I see, the cause of the exploits are either shear stupidity or a player feeling him or her stand above the rules...
I'd hate to see people come on the server, EgN members actually, and think the rules don't apply to them either because "Minecraft is a shitty game, I don't need to follow the rules" or because "I'm a member/elite/veteran/whatever, rules don't apply to me cause I'm a badass."

I hate nothing more than people saying not to take Minecraft more seriously than CSS or any other game for that matter. Rules still apply to you and everyone else regardless of the game.
So much trust has been broken, but I still enjoy the company of alot of the perpetrators.
Please don't cheat/hack, I'd hate to loose the ability to play with you guys...

Instead, if you find a glitch/exploit, tell one of the higher staff on the server and DO NOT TELL ANYONE ELSE!
There is always someone who's going to abuse that shit, we can't really avoid that...

Wouldn't it be better to fix said exploit then leave it up to the trust of members or even guests?
Other servers don't have this problem, why not make it a non issue instead of making examples out of people?

In order for us to fix said exploits, we need to be aware of them.
We then rely on the playerbase, which actively plays the game in legitimate ways, to tell us about these exploits.
I personally spend my time building in creative mode. This makes it so I'm not too aware of issues outside of my "zone".
Therefore, I trust our members to tell us about these issues so we can avoid further abuse through fixing them. The nether portal bug was apparantly been evident since mid 1.4, which is rather shocking. Fairly few had told Mojang, who couldn't reproduce it and therefore didn't view it as a bug, but rather as a client-sided issue. Same goes for us. If noone tells us - we can't make sure to fix them.
Now that someone did inform us of the glitch, we managed to fix it - I hope.

We don't want to make it a non issue nor to deliberately make examples out of people. All of these incidents have been results of poor users who have decided to avoid informing higher-ups on the server about the issue, and rather use it to their own advantage. Because of their own decisions, they're being made examples of.

I'll try to end my novels here now, but I'm just asking people to please tell us about these bugs/glitches. That way noone has to be made a bad example of...

I don't want to burst your bubble (I'm going to anyway), but no such thing exists.

Agreed. It seems the MC problem is just as bad as JB problem.

The portal glitch has been fixed, players are no longer able to make their own portal and have to use the one at spawn. Both me and Chubby have tested this portal and we know there is no glitch, BUT if you do find any or are told by anyone let us know so we can fix it. Also please do not hide the name of the person who told you or it will be you who gets banned if you say " He's my friend I'm not going to tell you". You will be the one banned not the person who told you. Obviously if you tell us who told you then they will have a punishment and not you.
