Gonna be making a JB map, maybe a few. Not sure if anyone else still does this but if so I'd appreciate some help or constructive criticism. Will be showing map progress in this thread if it turns out ok.

We don't need another Razr lmao.
Also, look at what works on some of the better maps (Razr is pretty balanced, Carceris is good, Spy V spy, Mario, lego as much as I hate it).
Dont have too many guns in armory, it causes lag.
Think about how the T's will rebel, and put guns according so it's fair for CT's to react to them ( I think only having SMGs or scouts would be more fair, awps are kinda OP on our server).
And please, have some games like colors, breakfloor, because no one likes playing none-stop math trivia.

Just to clarify your making a new map or changing the textures on razor.

You could always update razor but leave he textures how they are and secrets but expand the map and add in new things. Games and stuff.

Haven't launched source sdk or hammer in a long long ass time. Probably wouldn't be much help.

What is your theme going to be? Or modeling after?

Starting from scratch, will use other maps for inspiration but not copying anything.
Basically just making a simple layout and then coming up with some sort of theme from there, will post pics to help think of possible ideas.
If anyone else is interested I can give you a pretty basic source sdk/hammer tutorial just message me on steam, I think it would be awesome to have some sort of mapping team.
No obligation to help though, just gonna see where this goes.

Thank you for the tips :)

Finished the first bit, plan on adding games and shit outside just wanted to get armory/main cells done.
Realized the ladder was fucked up during the video but ill get to fixing that later, the materials look a little plain aswell but I'll change them when i get some input.
Got a few screenshots here of the main cell area aswell as a demo, let me know what you guys think.

I suggest going to gamebanana.com and steal the games from there, and make sure to give them credit though. But besides the credits, the games take too long to figure out how to make.

Im also in the progess of creating a map. It is taking a shitload of time to figure out how to do all the games, main cells, soccer and pool are finished with rebellion options.
I barely got spare time so its going rather slow hehe..
Your map looks pretty good so far.

I agree there are tons of games from other maps you can just copy over.
