Post subject:  Representative Elections **READ FIRST**

At the start of every month, the election process begins. Make a new application and answer the questions. You will be able to reply to your own topic if you want to add a lot more information or create a campaign.

At the monthly meeting, a new topic will be made with a poll on who should be elected to Representative.

Feel free to campaign, lobby, whatever else to win, so long as it is inline with the rules.

Rules:
- A Representative's term is 1 month
- There is no limit on the amount of terms a Representative can serve
- The only restriction to running for Representative is you must be an Elite+
- Voters for Representative must be Member+
- Staff+ reserve the right to demote any Representative on the basis of unacceptable behavior, but Representatives can still be re-elected.
- A candidate must have at least 3 votes to become Representative
- Voters will be able to vote for up to 2 of the candidates running
- Elections will open at the start of the monthly meeting and end 24 hours later.
- 1% of the community members will be a Representative at a given time. Currently, 2 representatives will be elected

Newly elected Representatives will be briefed on Sunday during normal meeting time, 24 hours after the monthly meeting. The elected Representatives should be on then!

To run, create a new topic, select the appropriate topic title, and fill in what you'd like. Add as much or as little information as you'd like!

There is no format, completely free-formed! Try to convince people to vote for you!

Spirit of the elections.

Pledging support/approval/disapproval/asking questions to reps about what they wish to see happen/criticizing them (within forum rules) is all ok for below Staff members to do in a candidate's election topic, the candidate may also reply. I would however be careful posting on another candidate's topic while you yourself are running at that time, if you'd still do so make sure you adhere to the forum rules.

I would however encourage anyone to run for rep regardless of how successful other reps are, votes are anonymous after all, maybe you submitting yourself to the election will get someone switch their potential vote, or maybe not, you truly don't know. Also the point of it being an election is to try and get elected the rep who'd best represent what you want in the community, if you think that's you yourself you will probs have different ideas than other candidates, in which case the reception of them to the "voters" should be your primary concern.

If anything you can gauge what is welcomed by the community by comparing the no. votes for a candidate and what their topic contains. Staff+ end goal is not to get more people to run for elections, rather it is to have the best (whatever that would be in the eyes of below Staff) elected reps possible.

Keep meta/unrelated discussions away from any rep's individual topic, or they will be moved/deleted as Staff+ sees fit. (meta as in not directly discussing the specific rep or their actions/ideas)
