I agree its dead.

And that trendy beard video guy actually said it better.

Music is dead.

So are movies.

Youve got to be pretty brain dead to enjoy the majority of recent music and movies.
Or.... gotta be young teen. (its all new to them)

The point of the video was explaining that music and rap aren't dead, mainstream stuff is terrible. But if that's all you listen to, then yeah you'd think good music is dead. But there are many sites that has a plethora of music, rap and artists that fits to everyone's taste. So no, what the guy said in the video was good music isn't dead you just maybe need to not just listen to mainstream media and look for it.

People were saying the same thing about hip hop going into the 90’s/00’s

The “new wave” has a place and an audience that like it, older artists (Eminem, Jay-Z, Wayne, Kanye, etc.) and newer artists with similar content (Kendrick, J Cole, Big Sean, etc) are all doing relatively well in one way or another. Hip hop is officially the most listened to genre, surpassing rock (at least in the US), and it’s global and mainstream popularity are also growing. Rap artists are breaking records and doing numbers never even seen before, so it’s kind of hard to argue its “dead”. Just because something isn’t for you or you don’t like changes doesn’t mean it’s dead, if anything rap is thriving and arguably even better than it’s ever been.

If i cant find a large amount of gems mainstream, then its dead.
Music is dead. (majority put out)
Movies are dead. (majority put out)

It use to be easy- to find a large amount of gems. Now we have to go underground.... or be happy when just find one or two.

I dont bother much with reddit is usally worthless chatter. (yes exception ElevatedGamingForum)
If that is main page on reddit....then = (meme: Pathetic) is how I feel.

Cooper ol buddy: "if anything rap is thriving and arguably even better than it’s ever been."
*triggered me here* Fist fight me you zombie.

Serious i know what that trend beard said. I was going to only say rap but after clipping thru his video hearing him say all music made me think more into it.

Sounds like you're the one dying. Culture and taste has been shifting. You sound like a stubborn old man shaking his fist at kids.

Movies aren't dead
Music is not dying. In fact, it's increased in the last few consecutive years. You can say you don't like it all you want, but it's not dying. It's thriving.

Yes, CS:S is dying. It's 14 years old and has a predecessor released in 2012 that out performs it greatly.
Yes, Minecraft is dying compared to it's start. It's also 9 years (7 years from "1.0" release) old. But it's still got a large community and continues to make money. There's a video just 3 weeks ago that was released about jumping on different minecraft blocks with over 2.5 Million Views. It's got some time before Minecraft is even considered dead.
I've never even heard of Starsiege Tribes... but was also released in 1998. So yeah it's pretty dead.
