Post subject:  Looking to Build a PC

For the past few years I've been thinking about building a gaming PC, but never really got far past purchasing peripherals and a case. I'm trying to get one right now that I'll be able to run CS:GO at around 300 FPS, but I also want to be able to run new games on it at around 60 (50-59 is fine too).

I came across a YouTube video with a guy who built a $600 computer which I think is a great price and can meet the criteria I listed above (newer games like Battlefield 1 at 50 fps). It's built with a GTX 1050 and an i3 8100. I'm really just wondering how much of a difference swapping the 8100 with an i5 8600k instead, would it be a good enough difference to keep the PC up to date?

What would getting an i5 8600 do for me instead of an i3 8100?

i5 you will be able to get better GPUs, if you do an i3 and get a 1050 you might bottleneck im not sure

i3 and 1050 might bottleneck as Synthic said. Just like my AMD FX8350 does with my 1050Ti. Try to get an i5 if you can. Don't make the same mistake I did.

$600 is pretty much it, but I guess I could work a bit more for 700. Problem is I'm also gonna be spending like 160 on a monitor.

This one to be precise: https://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-OMEN-25-LED ... SwuShaZ-Vj

I know it says that full price for this refurbished one says 350 dollars, but I know that's probably just a marketing tactic to make people think they're saving money. The new one is like 180, so I'm pretty sure it's not actually gonna go up to 350 after this sale ends.
