Hitman`s Bodyguard. Just saw it today with my girlfriend. Slow start but once it gets moving it becomes a great comedy action movie. Great cast of actors for the story with great humor and a fantastic amount of great quality action set sequences. If your a fan of the likes of Deadpool then you will probably like it. Overall it delivers itself well and goes down as an enjoyable film. 8/10.

Netflix's Original Death Note. Not gonna lie, it was actually terrible. Not even because it highly differentiates from the source material, it's just bad as a movie all together. It has huge plot holes, dumb, one-sided characters, character actions that go completely against that character's morals and personality, and overall it feels rushed and the run time only makes it worse. 4/10

Bakemono no Ko (The Boy and the Beast) 8/10

It's a Hosoda film alright.

They are the only filmmakers in Japan that I feel make films even remotely similar to Ghibli movies.

Bakemono no Ko (or The Boy and the Beast for those who watch dubbed) is about a boy, named Kyuta, who slips into an alternate universe where he is raised by the bear-man, Kumatetsu. Kyuta is eventually thrust into an adventure that spans both worlds. It's, as a matter of fact, one of the only films, from what I have understood, that captures and understands the real shit that happens in our moosecock of a world. The guy knows what's up, gotta give him props. It could be touched up a bit of course and expanded in certain areas of the movie, but an overall great film.

I think you could arguably say that Mamoru Hosoda could be the next Miyazaki.

TL:DR *boy ran away from home* *grew up as 'beasts'* *learned how to be 'strong'* *experienced normal life* *learned how to be 'normal'* *came back* Hosoda ft. Miyazaki

Lady Bird is a case study in authenticity. No better film has been made about teenagers and teenage angst like honestly the quirkiness and cringe is SO accurate. I love it.

About a senior in catholic high school, who recalls herself as "Lady Bird", who, over the course of her last year in school has a realization that she wants, change, and wants to move somewhere that has "culture" that isn't sacramento (can totally agree). Majority of the movie follows her relationship with her mother, which is about miserable (as "Lady Bird" says) which basically limits her to a lot of things in her life and makes her secluded to what her mother wants her to do (and be). Like besides the plot of the movie, the dialogue flows so well together between actors too (which is sorta rare with movies like these; often clichee). It doesn't seem, scripted, basically; that's how natural the dialogue seems.

Besides that def a must watch like fr 95%
