How do yall feel about MoviePass? "MoviePass gives you access to new movies in theaters nationwide for a low monthly fee." Its been around since 2011 or so and has gotten popular around the end of August, do you guys think its helping theatres or hurting? Do you think it's gonna last as a company now that its popularity is skyrocketing? |

I don't think it will hurt movie theatres since they get a monthly fee even when the people don't go watch a movie. Also I believe movie theatres get most of their income by selling snacks and drinks to people that watch the movies. So the moviepass will brig more people to watch new movies and will buy more snacks and drinks which leads to more profit . Idk what it is and never heard of it but I think it helps theatres in a way for the way theatres work. Even if 1 person wants to see the movie. The movie will roll. This way more ppl will come with more money to spent |

Movies make like, 80% of their money from concessions. But it's hard to tell if the people who are getting moviepass are buying anything in the theater. I would assume not, but I'm not sure. Will it last? Yes. Cost $10 / month still? Hell no. |

I believe it was nerdwriter or a similar YouTube video essay maker actually made a video discussing moviepass and about whether it's good for consumers or cinemas or even themselves. If anyone knows the video in on about or if I find it again myself it's a good watch and I'll put the link here |

From what I've seen about this, MoviePass is not making ninety on it currently. But its meant to get consumers to go out more and see movies. Which in turn generally leads to concession sales. Interested to see how long the subscription price can stay this low. |

Odeon, which is a cinema relatively close to where I live (not sure if you's have the same cinema in your areas) have this where you can pay so much a month and watch as much movies as you want. I actually generally like the idea because if you're a person who goes to the cinemas quite often, essentially you're paying more for individual tickets each time; whereas by only paying so much a month, you can go see as many films as you like each month you re-subscribe to the MoviePass. I generally think it's a good idea, though I don't know anyone who has it. |

If you only knew how much investment money I lost. It’s one of those companies that had a good idea and will fail but another company will do it and not make the same mistakes and succeed. |

So if you're already watching two films in the cinema each month it's worth subscribing. I don't have it but man it would have saved me hella money during Oscar season. |
