So in light of recent posts claiming that being the people of this community means staff+ are supposed to serve us and our desires as a collective, I figured I'd start with a vote.
Papa John's ban has been a highly controversial issue, with staff+ claiming he's "too toxic", and other members disagreeing with that claim, so why not see what the ratio is.

Feel free to post your reasoning behind your vote aswell.

I vote that we start letting members nominate a person they want unbanned and then staff unban's that person no questions asked.

Agree with Lunk punishments are nesissary but why are we trying to kill our community based around video games. Staff is litteraly destroying the community one perm ban at a time

I think we should donate money to get someone unbanned as we did with dhack. I actually like that system. If the person you want unbanned continues breaking rules, that's your own money. Gives a reason to think about if the guy you want unbanned will be a waste of money or not.

Have you read those ban reports? Tbh there are many of them but they are all minor infractions even accumulatively they wouldn't add up to a perm ban. I think staff was just fed up with him in general. Sure his attitude doesn't help his case but the issue behind each incident alone doesn't warrant this harsh of punishment. But I do agree, he should be punished, just not to the extent that has been set.

Why make members pay money to keep their community alive?
The Dhack situation was pretty rare, but he did intentionally MFK so there's really no way to reason with that with anything other than your wallet.
The perm ban on Papa J was for being generally toxic, but who's to say anyone else felt that way?
That's one person making a decision that is impacting the rest of the community in a large way.
Think of it this way, would you rather play in a server with a bunch of dull people who never break rules, but in turn have no personality?
Or would you rather play in a server with diverse people who like to joke around, sometimes going to far but being kept in check by admins.

Okay if we don't do that, maybe Papajohns should decide by himself if he wants to be unbanned, and make an ACTUAL ban protest with real effort unlike his previous ones. You guys are fighting for a person who doesn't even bother to try get himself unbanned.

But looking at his past 'attempts', if you're so sure he would be beneficial to our servers, perhaps you should put your own money on the table donating to the clan to actually contribute to the server in exchange for him being unbanned and hope hes the saint you dream of him as being.

In short, it's PapaJohns choice to be unbanned, not other people just because they 'like' him when we just ban hundreds of others for the same reasons without no hope of coming back unless they make their own well thought out protest ban.

The guy is a total delight to have on the server in my opinion. He's unparalleled as a warden to keep the server interesting and fun, I mean he's great for retention, and if you dispute that I think you'll have to go back in the logs and see the population at night prior to him being banned. His "toxic" behaviour is something that isn't inherent with him, he is a line stepper but I honestly think he understands why he was banned. Like Roaxes had said it's up to him.

Hate to say it, but I also agree with roaxes minus the pay2play point. If papa really wants to come back he should be making these threads instead of us. Everyone knows majority of the community wants him back but if staff doesn't see a serious attempt to be unbanned why bother? The outcome is just gonna be the same down the line.
