Post subject:  General Complaints Thread.

As im sure everyone can agree there has been a lot of disagreement and disconnect between EgN members with each other as well as with many staff. I sent a PM to advisors+ about a week ago to see if they would rather be the ones who start this discussion but they weren't too interested (maybe they too busy idk).

So like i said, this is supposed to be a place where you can voice legitimate problems and see if we as a group can come to an agreeable solution for everyone.

If you have a problem with another person feel free to mention it, however you have to keep it business like and not try to attack them as a person, but rather, explain what actions of theirs you take issue with.

If staff+ think that someone is going off topic or just trying to fight instead find a solution i ask that you plz warn the individual first, and then ban them if it continues. Punishing the rest of the posters by locking the thread doesn't seem fair or productive.

Due to the nature of this post i understand that their will be some people here that only want to vent their frustration and anger towards others, but this is not the place to do so.

To try and help keep it on topic and civil i ask that everyone follows the format below

Code:

The solution i think would be best for everyone is:

Alternatively, if you are responding to someone's post or are responding to a response, please use this format;

All that said i ask you guys to try and be as PC as you can here, because i think its the only way we can all come to an objective solution with each other.

My issue is as follows: Admins constantly muting all dead,as well as unmuting themselves when they die.

This issue has the affect of: upsetting players who would like to chat reasonably with each other in an acceptable and entertaining manner.

The people that must be
involved in fixing this problem are: EgN Admins (indiglow, aversan and wossia especially)

The solution i think would be best for everyone is: To only mute individuals who talk over warden or mic spam. This should be done in the standard: warn>mute for a round>kick>ban. A good exception would be when all players are yelling at once, in which case admins should mute all, explain that anyone continuing will be punished, then unmute.

I belive your proposed
solution would have the affect of: People group mic spamming until you mute all dead, or someone ghosting inb4 being muted because you only muted 1 individual.

I believe an alternative solution is: To keep it as it is, I mean dead people don't speak. And if we can keep somewhat order on the server, and keep the round progressing I believe that is what should be done. Of course this should not be abused by any means.

To expand on this, if any "group spam" happens after a warning then any individual involved in the group purposely doing this would be banned/kicked for spamming as well as disrupting the server. I believe everyone should be held responsible for their own actions when breaking the rules rather than punishing the whole server. I have found that respective responsible player enjoy this approach much more and disrespectful, disruptive player are taken off the server and stop causing other troubles as well.

I look forward to another response ash im glad to see you taking part in this discussion ^.^ (of course others are welcome to join in too)

My issue is as follows: when members think they can break rules when no admins are on

This issue has the affect of: everyone breaking rules n shit and getting in trouble cos some member decides to do some shit like thag

The people that must be
involved in fixing this problem are: obey the rules set forth by EgN, represent the server and the clan responsibly and professionally

The solution i think would be best for everyone is: I know it's for fun, and maybe get everyone's vote on it before you do it or just dont do it at all.

Such as:

-Hey let's do a racist joke day! The best racist joke wins!
-let's disrespect everyone, the best one wins and the rest die
-Everyone say ni**er!
-MFK round!

Those should be left out of the gameplay unless there's a vote called but there are some things that should remain followed at all times.

Nice idea.

I mite all dead as a way of allowing warden to continue giving orders without being interrupted, and understand that muting all may be a little unfair some of the time. I've taken on board what you've said, and will start muting individuals who ignore the warning to remain quiet when warden is giving out orders.

If this doesn't work or takes too long, I will continue to mute all dead, but unmute them all once wardens orders have been given.

PS I only unmute myself so I can talk to someone in an admin capacity. I don't unmute myself to talk shit.

PPS you'll find a lot of admins do this, not just us 3

Also a possible solution, I actually kinda like this idea and I would like if we could put the "admin rulebook" to list it as quoted.
Seems like a solid solution, maybe add that players should at max be banned 10 min for the first time of mic spamming.

Thank you for addressing this! This command should only be used for dead chat talking over warden, dead chat mic spamming, and for ghosting. Dead chat should not be muted because someone "feels like it". Also, admins should only unmute themselves, or talk in dead chat when they need to clear a situation. You shouldn't use it to just talk whenever you feel like it. Even though thats what the majority of people do, its not setting a good example if you are doing what you are telling others not to do. Hope this helped.

Thank you for addressing your concerns! We do not accept this kind of behavior, but if no one reports it, then how are we supposed to know they ever did it? The best thing to do is if you see a member do something you dont like or you think is violating the rules we have set in stone, then please report it and we can handle that immediately. Just make sure the evidence you post is rather a screenshot of chat, or a demo recorded off the CS:S console. Hope this helped.

Keep the concerns coming! Ill answer them as soon as I can.

Gonna just tack on some side notes to consider..
- players don't need to talk while dead
- on wardays don't mute the dead there's really no reason
- I suggest admins just mute all and keep themselves muted as well ( we have other ways to contact players. We don't need to be talking.)
-If a higher rank mutes you then don't unmute yourself(I've warned before and so have Staff. If you wanna be an ass about it then it will end up a simple kick til you grasp the concept.)
- it's ok to mute all dead because there's a reason for it. But don't sit there talking about whatever if your dead as well. Why should you be allowed if you won't allow others.

At the end of the day don't get upset if you get muted while dead. You shouldn't be talking in the first place. I'm not trying to be a hypocrite because I do mute the dead and including myself all the time. I think there are times for being lenient on this like wardays wards and other similar events.
