mattlikespie wrote: Hey everyone, In place of the rank structure we will be introducing a new awards/achievement system. Awards will vary from a variety of different functions, such as some just being awarded after a certain number of posts, while others are harder to obtain, such as years of service, admin duties, reputation, likeness, etc. The awards system is currently our highest focus right now, and it's easily become the most difficult thing to create. Soon you'll see a post asking for your help on ideas. I would love some idea's from you guys to help this get created. examples being Code: Award: First Post Description: Awarded to a user when first forum post is created or like Code: Award: CSS Legend Description: Reached 1000 hours on CSS JB in a week Need awards that people would either grind for or reach over time

Try to stay as close to the format provided above but i honestly don't mind free form as long as you give a good description of what your award does. |

Award: Yearly Awards that take the name of old ranks: Elite, Veteran Legend, exc Description: Awarded to a user whos been a member for a year and up 1 year= Elite 2 years= Veteran you get the idea, awarding people for being a member for a few years but not giving them the extra perms like ranks we have now, just for display. |

Feel like a Year Of Service badge would be more appropriate similar to how Steam is then maybe we could use the Elite, Veteran, etc. for a different use? |

I forget the website that keeps track of the best plays on JB, but I would implement that. Top player overall gets a prize, like a special title on their name when they are in the server. But if someone beats the top player they gain the title as best player. so it creates a salty competition between players on the server. Keeps it fun and spicy. |

Award: "x Donator" ($25+ Donator, $50 Donator, $100 Donator, etc.) Description: For people who have donated x amount to the community. Would scale up with the amount of money donated, starting at $5 or $10. |

Award: Admin (level of admin) (Multiple, admin lvl 1, admin lvl 2, etc) Description: No need for explanation. Maybe use Elite, Veteran, and Elder rank names for the admin levels(?) Award: Weeeeezr (Multiple, has become member of the week / month twice or four times in a row) Description: Member of the week or month. General activity on forums, TS3 / Discord, and server(s), and a level of maturity, etc. Award: Open Your Mouth Description: Top Poster / Contributor and/or X Poster (Ex. Reached 1,000 amount of posts and/or top poster) Award: Year Of Service Badge Description: Simple said. Badge for how many years they’ve been registered to forums, automatically assigned year-by-year possibly. Award: 100 Rep Club (500 Reps, 1k Reps) Description: Not too sure if there is a rep system on the new website but this would definitely be a nice addition. Award: Use Me! Description: Forum Moderator. Maybe a helper? An extent of permissions to moderate forums (and TS3 / Discord) I know this isn't an award but form mods should be a thing, mad thnx Award: I Bought This Badge (Multiple, $5 VIP, maybe $50 VIP, idk make it another $1000 VIP for Merle) Description: VIP Rank / Certified. Additional tank that must be bought to earn a particular amount of permissions (those of which I’m not sure what permissions they will have, but I am sure many members will buy it depending on the perms) Award: Developer (Manager of X server, etc) Description: Community Member who is willing to help develop a promoted server Award: Newcomer Description: Newbies that register to forums Award: Most connected (Multiple) Description: Has LITERALLY been connected to TS3 / discord for a year (or you kno, maybe a day) Award: I add lots of numbers (Multiple, top donator, and $5 donator, $100 donator, etc.) Description: Top Donator / X Donator. Self explanatory @ Cooper’s post Award: Top Player (Multiple, has played 1,000 in X server, played 24hrs in the server, etc.) Description: Has reached an X amount of hours in a server Rather a rank name change? To Administrator / Moderator (Maybe Both, Moderator lower than Adminstrator(?)). Higher ranks, Staff+ position? Why not give a change to ALL ranks to avoid the mentality of the roles and expectations of Staff+ That being said, I do still feel there should be ranks (even if they are community ranks, not clan) it would give members something to stay motivated enough to climb above, contribute. Few perks(?) as a way of saying "thanks!" (maybe we can stick to the current rank names we have now) just to show contribution that they have made to clan but EVERYONE starting as a community member(?). They can be in the form of a badge to avoid the mentality of ranks, per se, but just something for people who contribute to the community. Award names aren’t serious, or maybe they are, but it was mixed with boredom and well, boredom Noticed that a lot of what I had put down aren't necessarily "awards" but considering there is no ranking structure and this badge / award system is suppose to replace it, I would say it's an appropriate addition. |
