Got off work today to continue working on one of my finals for school. Found out I accidentally deleted the entire project folder, so now I have to restart the whole damn thing. Partially my fault but still fuck.

Motivation: 60%

Then I noticed my 2nd monitor was working a little funky, so I went through and started changing resolution sizes and now any monitor I plug in to be my 2nd is forever stuck in "Input out of range."
So I try to boot into safe mode to see if I can get it working again, but then my computer wouldn't even boot anymore.

After about 20 minutes of troubleshooting I get it to boot again but my 2nd monitor is still forever stuck in Input out of range no matter what it is on. All driver updates do absolutely nothing.

Motivation 5%

Fuck my life.

I love GIt. Git git git.
Seriously, any project, use git or bitbucket (good because it's private) or something for source control and you will forever be happy.
Also, employers will love that you know it.

Have you tried recovering the files? There is some free software online that may be able to recover it, usually the stuff isn't truly gone until the memory location is written over, so it might be worth a try.
Just backup other important things if you're gonna do what I said and mess with the HD memory, lol.

This is the one project I hadn't started putting on my GitHub yet... I wasn't far enough that I would go through all the time to try and recover it so I just restarted.

Any idea on what the hell my computer is doing that every monitor says it's out of range? Updates and setting to defaults didn't seem to work.

Edit:
Turns out the DVI -> VGA adapter is kind of fucked. Put it on my roommates computer and it worked just fine until he tried upping his resolution, then it just would only show "Input out of range."

Running on straight DVI cables now and everything is fine.

Project is up and running, and 2nd monitor is back.

Motivation: 76%.

I'm sorry that happened to you. :/

Especially during finals week. I hope you fix it all and you'll be back to doing your favourite major ever! :D

This was about a month ago, but I did end up getting the project completed and got an A on it.
